Parrots galore. Must be in shape to walk up. Once up, you are at Coit Tower. But the neat thing of this hike is that you see the little houses and their gardens

Great views, cool seeing the parrots. Lovely gardens. Just super fun and relaxing to get away from all the crowds by the piers.

Although we didn't see the parrots when we went, it was a great walk and the views were super. It was a little confusing which steps were the Filberts, but when you're facing the front, go to the left behind and you'll see them.

Yes these steps are decent, but there are so many better stairs hidden across SF - just good and you will see. I personally love the Lyon Street stairs as you have a view of the Golden Gate the whole time and you are encircled...More

After lunching at Pier 23 Cafe we hiked the hill to Coit Tower through peoples backyards and gardens, wondering how they could possibly live on this steep hillside. The kids left us in the dust and we finally reached the top of the 300 foot...More

I took the Filbert Steps up to Coit Tower. It was worth the steep climb for the views at the top, but it is a long way up!

If you are into stair workouts this is for you. A lot of stairs but some beautiful gardens and quaint houses. If coming from the bottom, I think the entry is more obvious at the end of a dead-end alley/street. Coming from Coit tower, you...More

A walk down the Filbert Steps is the perfect and non-strenuous way to end a visit to the Coit Tower. Check out the postage stamp gardens and the feline residents on your way down to Levi's Plaza, then take the trolley along the Embarcadero in...More

We walked down the steps after visiting the Coit Tower - and were thoroughly thankful that we didn’t attempt to climb up that way! I think the local residents must be in fabulous health, to live on what is basically a cliff face! There are...More

If you want the easier way, take Uber up to Coit then walk down the steps. We walked up them and needed the exercise after all of the good food we had been eating! The views are beautiful all the way up. It’s also worth...More

Not sure what the address is but if you go to Coit Tower, both sets of stairs are on the street just below I believe. Since that is well known it will be easy to find and then you can ask someone if needed. Also if you are... More

The restaurant changed hands (don't know when) and became the Dalla Torre. The Dalla Torre closed in 2006 and the site was converted to a private residence.
