Walk down Telegraph Hill on these steps and enjoy some great views of houses perched hillside and the Bay below. You end up in a lively business area with some good places to eat and drink.

Relaxing hill climbing on a natural scale from Pier7 to Coit tower. You will enjoy the awesome sculpture hidden in the natural gardens along the up!

By itself probably not worth five stars, but it gets it as the icing on the cake combined with a trip to Mo's Grill on Grant Ave and Coit Tower. The steps tumble down the east-side of the San Francisco elevation, finishing in Sansome St.,...More

We had a walking tour printout that took us up the Greenwich Steps, and we're so glad it did -- a real oasis. There is so much wildlife and so much to see on your way up the Steps.

To be honest, I meant for us to walk down Filbert Steps, but we started down Greenwich Steps instead. I'm not sure if there is a huge difference or not since we never made it to Filbert, but, Greenwich was beautiful and interesting. There are...More

After ascending the Filbert steps to get to Coit tower I had planned on going back via the same route, however I stumbled on the Greenwich steps almost entirely by accident. They are a nice little oasis in the middle of bustling SF, and although...More

The Greenwich Street steps may start at the top of Greenwich Street and go to the base of Coit Tower, but there are other steps from the bottom, close to Embarcadero, up to Grant Street. So you can climb an awful lot of stairs from...More

I love the views from Coit Tower and I just discovered the best way to get there...The Greenwich Steps. Not sure how many steps, 400+ is my guess...and its waaaaaaaaay easier going down. Great way to get to Coit Tower...get a little exercise and see...More

This was a great way to get to the Coit Tower, with interesting gardens along the way and great views, well worth the exercise.

A good stair climb requires lots of steps -- with visual interest along the way. Absent the visual interest, you might as well climb the stairs in your own building. This has it all -- plus some wild parrots that occasionally swarm, with Coit Tower...More

North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds
of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian
ristorante come together to create the charming
neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping
grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of
North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always
suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in
the city exude as much European charm and style.
