Visiting now in Oct San Francisco, we knew about the Gospel chor and the "kind" of Mess in this Church. We went there for 11.00 am on Sunday, in the 1st floor, there were still plenty of seats. The Church hall is pretty big, it started with great gospel music and singing on the stage before of us. Then there... More

This is a joyous place with a message of radical inclusiveness. The amazing gospel Glide Ensemble and "Change Band" are inspirational and moving.

Was staying across the street. Happy to have gotten up on Sunday morning for this! Very inclusive but chill. Really come as you are and worth the trip for your heart and soul!

Do not hesitate just go here! We went with our son who is a member and lives around the corner. We are Catholic and from New England so sometimes a little hesitant in our services. This took me by surprise but what a wonderful surprise! Everyone hugs, sings, praises and what an eclectic, diverse group. The choir was phenomenal -... More

Glide Memorial has been a mecca for social ministry for at least twenty years. This is a church that was exchanging needles for addicts twenty-five years ago. This church has continued to grow into broader social ministry in its community. Today you will find that the church is busy almost 24 hours a day. There are day care centers, homeless... More

There was a notice at my backpackers asking for volunteers to either prep food or serve meals for homeless people, and I was immediately interested. I registered online and walked to Glide from my backpackers. Glide is situated in an area where there are many homeless people so this brought home to me how many people are in desperate need... Five dynamic ministers and two interns! A great soul-full choir accompanied by the Glide Change Band. A congregation of loving people who welcome (with hugs) all our human family members. A joyous experience for all. Glide also has 85 programs to help the disenfranchised, including feeding 800 to 1,000 people three meals a day each day of the year AND... More

Glide is a must visit for a visitor, or those who live in San Francisco - students or professionals. The church is love based, and all different paths are welcome (religion, origins, colors...) The music is moving, and performed by the famous Glide Ensemble and the Change Band. Soloist Emma-Jean Foster is always outstanding. The stories that are being shared... More

Wanted to visit the Glide Church because of its history in the Peace, Love and Hippie generation, but found that that was back then, not now. The church is sited in a pretty run down derelict area with a large homeless entourage around it. Good luck. ...

People in San Francisco knows Glide and the amazing work that they do helping everyone in need: food, work, housing, professional skills, drug recovery, etc. One of the jewels of the Church is their ensemble, you can not miss it. On Sundays the church has two services: 9am and 11am. If you are in San Francisco on a Sunday, you... More
