This building is beautiful and the inside is just as amazing as the outside. I loved going in and seeing the architecture of the place.

Magnificent architecture! Didn't do the guided tour and just spent about 30 minutes, but totally worth it!

I didn't go in, I might should, it could change my overall experience of this city hall. But the tons of homeless people around and the smell made me rather to leave that place asap.

Did you know that state capitol buildings were not allowed to have a taller dome than that of the US Capitol? Well, they forgot to put such a restriction in place for city halls. They probably didn't think to ban coating the dome with gold either, but where better to gild a dome than the home of the Gold Rush—it's... More

I have been her several times on business and found the architecture amazing. If you enjoy seeing Grand buildings of bygone days this would be a nice visit. If you're here on business good luck!

We should know we got married here in 2008 and every time we return to San Francisco we return to this lovely setting. A great historic building and wonderful architecture. Love going here.

I'm not an architect and don't know the style of the building, but it's definitely more traditional than modern, and beatiful inside and out. You enter into a grand hall with a grand staircase in the center. On the first floor, the wings of the building on either side of the grand hall have smaller ballroom type spaces and on... More

City Hall is beautiful, the building is magnificent with its cupola and the in side is also very impressive. Nice place to visit, you have a beautiful garden with trees and you have the Opera House, the Asian Museum and Concert Hall around it.

Must city iconic building in San Francisco that hits you with a wow in design and architectural skills that has been dedicated to this building. This building is covered with 24k gold cappings . No cost to walk around this building from outside admire it's beauty . Beautiful background for your photos and close to the downtown.

Neighbourhood Profile
Civic Center
Civic Center is the seat of power for all things government and performance-related in the city. Although its streets are best walked during daytime, numerous cultural gems are within close proximity to one another. The symphony, opera, ballet, and jazz center offer year round entertainment within the shadow of the city’s Beaux-Arts crown jewel: the gold tipped dome of City Hall.
