Perfect place for Elopement!

San Francisco City Hall is such a beautiful building, perfect backdrop for a wedding ceremony. The staff are all very friendly and our marriage commissioner Bernice was so lovely.

Drove by on our hop-on tour in September 2016. Beautiful architecture and columns. Very large building in San Francisco. Just like in the wedding planner with J.Lo and Matt McConaughy, there was a wedding party outside in front after a civil ceremony.

I walked around Herman Plaza recently and was taken with the dramatic view of City Hall. The huge dome that sits atop the 1915 building makes San Francisco seem more like a state capitol than the cosmopolitan city that it is. Lots of history has been made at this City Hall, including the sad and tragic assassination of then Councilman... More

It beautiful building with top dome in gold. They it real gold. It should the major earthquake of San Francisco and is taller than Capital hill. A monument at heart of city is also worth seeing.

We really enjoyed our docent tour of City Hall with Laurie. Initially attracted by the lovely exterior and by a recommendation from our Uber driver who worked nearby, a guided visit gave us a great insight into the architecture, history and a slice of local life as we glimpsed the Superintendents in session and wedding parties arriving for their services.... The City Hall of the great City of San Francisco is an absolute must for architecture and history buffs. The majestic Beaux-Arts building was built in 1915 and later retro-fitted after the 1989 earthquake to stabilize its dome. This dome rivals the domes of the Opera Garnier in Paris and the United States Capital Building in Washington DC. For a... More

This is a city jewel that was beautifully restored a few years ago. They have great art exhibits in the basement and you often see couples getting married in the second floor cuppula.

Happened to walk past this beautiful building on the way to someplace else ... it is architecturally interesting in the way that says it is from a time long past. Great Photo Ops!

Take the free doscent tour at 10am. He was worked in that building for over 20 years and can take you to all sorts of restrictioned rooms. Fun, fact filled tour not just of city hall, but of SF. Go to Asian Art Museum, which is next door, afterwards.

The City Hall in SF is incredibly beautiful, another great example of Beaux-Arts architecture. The building is very close to the United Nations building and memorial, so these two attractions could be done in tandem. The area is a little bit sketchy, so I'm not sure if it's a good idea to go there at night. When we went, police... More
