Lovely architecture, great photo opportunity but nothing more. The building itself was beautiful but we found that after walking around the area there was nothing more to look at.

A plus of being a limo driver is that I often get several hours in various parts of San Francisco while clients are in meetings to explore. I've traveled by the *outside* of City Hall on numerous occasions, but on this trip, I had the pleasure of exploring the interior. The Rotunda is not to be missed! Several weddings were... More

Must see this unique building. The City Hall is great architectures in San Francisco. The farmes market in front in Sundays is funny to see the local products being sold.

To anyone looking to just do the "courthouse" wedding, this is it. It's an incredible building and the clerk's office is so helpful! Something you don't typically come across.

Designed by an American Architect who is one of the few to be honored by the French Architectural Academy. It is a must see. Make sure you see the grand staricase. Only visible from one entry.

We San Franciscans are very proud of our majestic City Hall. Built when San Francisco was the largest city in the Western U.S, it is a monument to San Francisco's high regard for itself. It's as large as and looks very similar to many state capital buildings. Go inside to appreciate the beautiful details, the sweeping marble stairway and the... More

My son was married there on February 3rd. It is beautiful! Gold flakes on the outside of the building. Perfect place for a wedding.

I think the title says it all. Getting married at City Hall is the penultimate SF Wedding. Planning is easy, if you want to rent a space, versus going with the ceremony at the top of the stairs, which they will not guarantee or reserve. Everyone was easy to deal with and made planning a preparation a breeze. Highly recommended.

San Francisco City Hall is such a beautiful building, perfect backdrop for a wedding ceremony. The staff are all very friendly and our marriage commissioner Bernice was so lovely.

Neighbourhood Profile
Civic Center
Civic Center is the seat of power for all things government and performance-related in the city. Although its streets are best walked during daytime, numerous cultural gems are within close proximity to one another. The symphony, opera, ballet, and jazz center offer year round entertainment within the shadow of the city’s Beaux-Arts crown jewel: the gold tipped dome of City Hall.
