The special exhibits are great, and the head sets with an explanation are clear, and a great addition to help explain what you are seeing. They are presented in a way that is both informative and fun. The cafeteria is not as good as the De Young Museum, but above the usual cafeteria food.

This is a beautiful museum located in Lincoln Park with views of the Golden Gate Bridge. The building is patterned after a building in Paris. The permanent collection is mostly French. There are many Rodin sculptures including a large Thinker.

I was invited to a private tour of a recent Haute Couture show at this delightful small museum. The show was beautifully done and the museum has great exhibits and facilities. What a gem for the city!

A sweet and special museum far from the maddening crowds with amazing views of the Pacific Ocean and GG Bridge. The permanent collection is always worth wandering through, and if you're lucky you may have whole galleries to yourself. Downstairs rotating special exhibits are always fun. Don't miss this beautiful spot - it's worth the drive/walk/ride to this far and... More

Going to the Legion of Honor is worth it even if you don’t go inside. The grounds are beautiful, the building interesting and the views spectacular. I special exhibition while I was there was “High Style,” twentieth century couture, not my thing but of course they did a great job with the display. Their permanent collection is interesting. There is... More

Quiet peaceful place to visit. Nice break from the busy city and tourist areas whether you go inside or not. Drive from the Golden Gate Bridge to here is very scenic and the Legion of Honor is on the way to the Cliff House from the GGB or DWTN as well.

Loved the location of this wonderful museum. A bit out of the way and a great change from the inner city.

I think a lot of people don't make it to this really delightful, full of treasures, place because of its location. I know, even though we visit our son each year, that we only get there every few years as it's quite challenging to use public transit. Maybe now with Uber and other car options, more people will go. We... More

This museum has everything, a european building with european masterpieces of art. Is big and had a big variety, from sculptures, to paintings. Is a little far from the city, but worth it to go. The views from the outside of the museum are amazing, you can see the golden gate bridge from a different perspective.
