Been coming to Japantown for over 15 years primarily for the many authentic Japanese restaurants, stores, home goods and scenery that reminds me of being in Japan. There is a movie theater here which we typically visit often and a great Ramen place too -...More

Off the tourist track with great shops and food. Kimpton Hotel is perfect. The only line was at the great ice cream shop in the mall and it was totally worth it. Daiso is better than any Dollar type store with treasure from Japan for...More

We came here towards the end of the day and it was pleasant to walk around and take in the sights and history. Plenty of restaurants to choose from with epic food. Don't miss this area of San Francisco.

We did see the tower and take some pix, but there wasn't much else there. We got there around 9:30 and a lot of the shops didn't open until 10:30 or later

There is a parking garage under the mall. I usually use public transportation which is convenient and inexpensive.

Yes, I think it is. My family and I walked around 9:00pm and the streets were busy but we felt safe.
