- TravelingSoccerLoonSaint Paul, Minnesota3,188 contributionsGreat Lunch Spot at Fisherman's WharfConveniently located at Fisherman's Wharf and known for some of the best sourdough bread that can be found. Cafeteria style-wait in line, order your food and pick up at the end of the counter and then find your table. Plenty of indoor seating and also an outdoor patio protected from the wind with glass partitions. I ordered the clam chowder bread bowl and 1/2 Italian sandwich combo and both were really good. Definitely a good choice for lunch if at the Wharf.Visited October 2022Written April 23, 2023
- Ken LSaskatoon, Canada1 contributionNo Washrooms for guestsAte here twice and the food and value were very good. However there were no washrooms and we were told we had to use the fisherman’s wharf public washroom. It’s the worst washroom I have ever seen. Disgusting, filthy and unsafe. Not sure how the City of San Francisco would allow the design not to include onsite washrooms for patrons? At the very least if Boudin is directing its guests to the public washroom they should be helping to invest in a public washroom that is kept at an acceptable standard.Visited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten June 14, 2023

Great service, even during an earthquake; yes our chairs shook. We found out why later. No Bathrooms, must use public bathroom across the parking lot for the whole street .Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten October 29, 2023

Only for tourist which do not know what real bread is.
I ordered a Tuna Sandwich and get a Chicken Sandwich 2 Dollars expenciver. So verify always your ticket before accepting to pay.
The Bread was Old like leder.
When I pay 14 Dollars for 2 littel piece of bread I expect at least a fresh product.
It was really disapointing.
Avoid this place.

Excellent sour dough bread on the wharf. We had the chili and claim chowder. Also, lots of fun shapes of bread as well. Cool inside view of the bakery.

We love coming here for the soup. They have clam chowder and tomato. The soup in a sourdough bread bowl is delicious. Try it.

We ate here three times in total; twice in the restaurant and once downstairs in the self service area. As the first restaurant meal was our first night in San Francisco, we were perhaps too tired after such a long flight from the UK to enjoy the food fully, but we certainly made up for that on the second night The service we received was difficult as the waiter did not seem to understand Engish very well.
The self service area was more difficult to work out. Basically you ordered in one area then went to the other end of the cafe to collect your items. You were given a number and had to wait until that number was called out, at which point you could find a seat.
The soup in a bread bowl is obviously one of their trademark items and was very popular. I had the tomato soup and my friend had the clam chowder. We followed it up with a cake each and coffee.

We stopped here for breakfast and we were not disappointed. Quick service and delicious food. And of course we couldn't not buy one of their specialty shaped rolls- wide selection to choose from- including teddy bear, turtle, love heart, crocodile.
