What a groovy place to have a drink and a nostalgic look back at the 60s. Very different place. Good wine selection and a bit cheaper during Happy Hour. On the second floor, you get a good view of Columbus Street.

This place is one of THE best bars in San Francisco. It's so cool. You can sit there all day with jazz playing in the background. The staff are chilled like the punters. It's in the heart of North Beach. We go everyday when we go because we love it so much. We took our friends there this time and... More

We ended up here on a Sunday night in the pouring rain, so it was not very busy. Needless to say, I would go back again just to look around more. Great drinks, incredibly friendly staff- the stories those walls could tell you.....Wow. Lots of history in that small pub! Well worth a visit!

Sat here for some post-work beers with a friend, both of us brand new to San Francisco. Very glad I discovered this gem, and planning on making it a hangout while I'm living in the city. The drinks are clean and significantly more affordable compared to most places in San Francisco-$5 is exactly what a beer should cost! The ambience... More

I had an afternoon drink at Vesuvio. Once in the place... enjoy the amazing decor, the great atmosphere and the good vibe. The staff was really friendly and made our beer even more appreciable. Vesuvio Cafe is a must in San Francisco

Wow! This place is remarkable in the best of ways. It has the old hippy/beatnik vibe still going on but not in a tired/touristy way. There's a great range of beers on offer. and the décor is interesting - again it pays homage to its 1960'/1970's famed roots. We loved it and hope you will?

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighbourhood decorated with colourful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands, tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighbourhood.
