Gears and Grapes Getaways offers day trips to Napa Valley, Dry Creek Valley...

Gears and Grapes Getaways offers day trips to Napa Valley, Dry Creek Valley and the Russian River Valley. Our day trips include pick up and drop off in San Francisco! Experience Northern California's wine country in an exciting new way, by pedaling through it first-hand. Learn more about wine than ever before from our expert on-staff sommeliers. We will take you to our hand-selected vineyards that produce some of the highest quality wine in Northern California. Our experienced tour guides and staff are trained sommeliers, who have authentic wine knowledge that you can't find anywhere else.Leaving San Francisco at 9am, a shuttle will take you across the Golden Gate Bridge into wine country. Once there, we will set you up on bikes and a guide will lead you from winery to winery. We will stop for a delicious picnic lunch amongst the vineyards. A shuttle will follow the group to carry any purchases or assist any riders who decide they would rather be driven. Biking the whole way is optional. At any point, guests may choose to ride in the shuttle. We return to the city by 7pm.All trips include bike, shuttle, guides, transport to and from SF, lunch, snacks and 4 winery visits.

Great way to spend a couple of hours! Ari was our guide and she was awesome! Stopped at 3 craft breweries in very interesting parts of town and enjoyed chatting with the 6 others on the tour. One participant had two flat tires and Ari handled it like a pro and escorted us all to a food truck park to... More

What a great way to spend a day!! Do you like wine? Do you like to cycle? Gears and Grapes puts together a great package where they will pick you up in downtown San Francisco and drive you out to Napa. The bikes are in good shape, the bike trails are amazing and the wineries are top notch. Coming from... More

We had an awesome time on our tour with Hunter! He took us to 3 wineries one of us had been to before and all of them were great. The bike route wasn't too tough, which worked out for us since we had some people who are more athletic than others and a group of girls dressed relatively nice. This... More

A lot of fun cycling between the different wineries and sampling great wines. Hunter and Jen were great guides.

We used Gears & Grapes for our quarterly rewards outing for our company of 14 people, and we had an AMAZING time. Ari did a fantastic job of creating a custom tour for our needs, and was incredibly accommodating with the requests we had. She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. Hunter &... More

My husband and I scheduled a tour last month to coincide with a vacation in the Bay Area. One day prior to the tour, I had a minor accident, injuring my ankle and was unable to ride a bike. Unfortunately, we did not have the opportunity to provide the required 48 hour notice, as the injury occurred one day before... More

We really enjoyed visiting smaller vineyards and seeing the beautiful scenery. So glad we decided to take this tour and would recommend it to all. Chloe and Hunter took great care of our small group and we had a great experience!

Thank you to Hunter for looking after us on this day tour. There were six of us altogether (3 couples, all from different countries!). We had a great day. Cycling was easy, though some was on the roads. It wasn't cheap as each tasting charges you up to $20. You can share, but we didn't.... Some great memories created. And... More

My friend and I had a great time on the beer and bike tour in SF. The first brewery didn't have anything I could drink (I have celiac) but the guide, Ari was very accommodating and bought me a cider at the next bar. I am not the strongest cyclist, but I felt comfortable and secure riding around town. We... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
