As the US stepped into 1920, prohibition was in full force. Though secretly tucked away in basements and elevated rooms, people were still drinking alcohol at 'Speakeasy' restaurants. Upstairs at 1630 Powell Street is one of the original Speakeasy venues of San Francisco where every Monday night an invite only underground dinner takes place. Come join us on Monday for some history and some delicious food! Menus and details at CulinaryEye .com/18thamendment/

grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of
North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always
suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in
the city exude as much European charm and style.
