Friendly staff; super clean rooms; nostalgic furnishings but wonderfully comfy beds. Located on the corner of Lombard and Union Streets, it is a healthy walk to Fisherman's Wharf and the top of Lombard Street where the iconic curvy, hilly street intertwines through fabulous landscaping and...More

The rooms are large, with comfortable beds and adequate furnishing. The location is perfect for our needs. It's near Chestnut Street where there are many good restaurants and shops. Our room faced a courtyard overlooking ISA restaurant's tented area. Until 10ish at night things are...More

We had a two bedroom suite. We've been coming to the Cow Hollow for 13 years. This was the first year we booked a suite. It was worth it.

Wound up here to go to a restaurant that didn't take brunch reservations, so had lots of time to stroll the streets before our wait to be seated was over. Lots of interesting shops, a few chains thrown in (e.g., Sephora), but most local retailers...More

We ambled into Cow Hollow after looking at Victorian houses in Presidio Heights. The Painted Ladies here didn't seem quite as grand, but they were still worth a look. We visited on a national holiday so I noted many residents out and about. They seemed...More

Great fun to walk around this funky neighborhood. We LOVED the Twig Gallery at 2162 Union Street and bought a fabulous mermaid clock along with some other fun souvenirs. The owner, Keith Chamberlain, boxed it all up and mailed it to us so we did...More

Cow Hollow is a funky elite (aka expensive) neighborhood with lots of botiques, restaurants, and specialty stores. Nice to walk around but make sure if you plan on doing more than looking it will be costly.

This is an area for budget motels where you can find cheaper accommodation and free parking, useful if you have a rental car. Its easy from here to get to the Golden Gate Bridge and to Fisherman's Wharf. The area was once known for field...More

Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful
backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to
the Marina. Originally the location for the
Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose
remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much
of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a
world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a
jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city.
