The moment we walked in we were personally greeted by the magician Jay Alexander. We in the lounge and had some great food and drinks from an optional menu. During out meal Jay came in and did some amazing magic right at our table and with objects that we held in our own hands. This was just the warm up as, after this we were led into a small intimate theater where Jay amazed us all and read our minds. The audience was a mix of adults and families and the show was really suited for all ages.
Jay is not just a great magician but also an amazing and personable entertainer that makes everyone feel comfortable and welcome. We couldn’t stop talking about the amazing magic on the way home. I can’t recommend this show highly enough!

What a marvelous way to spend an evening with friends and families of all ages! The exotic adventure begins the moment you descend the stairs into a very atmospheric Moroccan-themed cave. There are amazing vintage magic posters on the walls. You are instantenously transported into another cosmic world -- where anything can happen! Appropriately themed yummy food and beverages are available. Master Magician Jay Alexander greets one and all beore the show begins and performs a few warm-up sleight of hands tricks. You are then ushered into a small intimate theater, where Jay performs a dazzling array of tricks that will simply blow your mind. He is very very good at his craft. There is lots of marvelous audience participation....Loads of laughs and good cheer. Definitely great value for money as Jay goes all out to ensure that everyone leaves with a huge smile on their face...wondering how he does what he does. This is a unique not-to-be missed San Francisco experience!

Jay puts on a great show. Very entertaining, funny, and lots of 'how the heck did he do that' moments. The small venue makes for great audience interaction.
Appys and drinks before the show are a nice touch as well.

My husband and I took our two kids under 12 we had a great time! They got to go up on stage and interact with the show. He is a funny nice guy and I have no idea how he was able to do these crazy guessing tricks and was always right! It was a small intimate theater and everyone was respectful and seemed to also have a wonderful time. We had mediterranean food in the little restaurant before the show and he was going table to table doing card tricks. Family friendly fun.

I went to the Magic Theater as part of a small private event. Jay was both friendly and engaging as he did everything from do card tricks during dinner to fascinating magic for the entire group. I enjoyed the mentalism more than the slight of hand but Jay did each masterfully. You're sure to have a good time.

Located just a few blocks from Union Square is this cozy little theater that houses a wonderfully intimate show. You can really feel the heart that Jay puts into his show and you will walk out wondering how he pulled off his amazing tricks. The show is very engaging and you feel as if you are truly a part of the show. Thanks Jay for a wonderful evening!

I’ve been coming to SF for years and have seen many shows here, but had not heard about this show. I’m so glad my sister in law picked this show for our weekend trip!
Wonderful experience from the moment we walked in. Jay greeted each of us as he took us to our table in the cocktail room that had a cool speakeasy/vintage magic museum vibe perfectly suited to the theatre’s beautiful Moroccan design elements left from the original tenant. The intimate pre-show cocktail hour was a brilliant way to get immersed into the experience to come….which was absolutely amazing. We are still thinking and talking about it! Jay’s show had us repeatedly surprised, thinking, and laughing. He is an incredibly smart and talented performer who no only entertains but connects with his audience in a heartfelt way. The staff was also very efficient and friendly. I can’t recommend this show enough and can’t wait to come again with my family and friends.

He kept saying that it was all math and science but it sure seemed like magic to me. The theater is very intimate so you can see everything that happens very clearly. There is a lot of audience participation so that’s very fun. Make sure and go early so you can participate in the preshow card tricks

Jay Alexander is the real deal! I brought my son to see him since he’s really into magic and our minds were blown. The card tricks are amazing and his slight of hand is masterful but the mentalism work he does is something else! It’s way better than magic because it’s real. Jay is a master, he is truly a genius savant.
The close up card tricks in the lounge before the show are awesome so get there early! The food is also amazing. We bought the first row tickets which was awesome because you are so close. It is a very small and cozy theater so every seat is close and everyone gets to participate.
I’ve been to other magic “shows” where you know everything is just props and illusion but this was different. Jay has the ability to actually read people and know what they are thinking.
Be ready to be amazed!

My partner is uncomfortable in tight small upstairs and basement theater spaces where fire exits seem either non-existent or problematic. Is this theater space certified as
safe by the SF Fire Dept and do patrons ever comment about feeling potentially trapped?
Written May 20, 2019
Hi 931christopherk,
We have never had anyone mention anything and the fire department has been down here many times.
I would recommend calling us and we can discuss it and I will send you photos.
It is an old San Francisco building and I would hate for your partner to feel uncomfortable.
Best,
Jay Alexander

What is the running time of the show?
Written December 9, 2018
The doors open and hour before showtime. We have food and drinks in the lounge and close-up magic. The show lasys 75-90 minutes. The entire nigh is 2-2.5 hours if you come for the entire experience.

Would this be appropriate for an 8 and 5 year old?
Written October 17, 2018
The show is not inappropriate for the 5 year old but this is not a kids magic show. Children have an amazing time at the theater. The 8 year old will have a blast.

how much did it cost to go see the show?
Written October 7, 2018
$45.00 is correct. We paid an extra $10.00 each for guaranteed front row seats. It was very worth the extra, but keep in mind the theater only has about 6 rows, so all seats are good.
Written October 8, 2018
Appropriate for 13 and 15 year old in a barlike setting?
Written October 7, 2018
Absolutely. Kids are welcome and the area before the show is a restaurant where you order food, as well as beer or wine if you want. Cozy and exotic, but not a bar.
Written October 9, 2018
What appetizers are served? Is there a menu posted that I don’t see? Food allergies.....Thanks.

Yes, the menu can be found on the website
