Eureka is located at Hyde Street Pier and is an exhibit of the San Francisco Maritime Museum. Eureka is open to self-guided tours through the car deck, passenger deck and topside (although the bridge is locked). Eureka is an example of a wooden hulled, side-wheel steamboat. The steam engine is viewable along with the walking beams on the top deck.... More

Hyde Street Pier is the home of the Eureka a steam ferry that provided the link from San Fansico to Marin prior to the Golden Gate Bridge. Has some interesting old cars and historical pictures and menu of food served back then with prices. It is part of the National Park Systrm and kids can earn a Junior Ranger badge... More
