This is a must, and such a great contrast to the streets of San Francisco. We were spoilt by the glorious sunshine and could have stayed hours longer than we did, as there was so much to see.

No, you can use Google maps for navigation and it's a public park, so basically no opening hours.

yes, small eatery in the academy plus food stands in park and restaurants near the entrances to the park
