This is a great location, lots of interesting things to see and do. I particularly recommend heading up the tower for amazing views over the city, and even across to the ocean, provided that the fog hasn't rolled in already.

We walked around for a few hours. Saw Japanese Tea gardens and Conservatory of Flowers along with Dalia gardens. Would have loved to spend all day here and see it all. You could spend an entire day or more here. Weather was gorgeous. Several people...More

I found it to be a collection of multiple parks rather than a single location. I may have been spoiled by New York's Central Park but I was a little surprised by the number of roads crisscrossing the land and the amount of traffic. That...More

If you are short of time, i would give the park a miss. It must be nice for people in the city to come and chill around some greenery but what they do have here to see isn't that great. Also it takes a while...More

This Park is VERY poorly marked. No maps are available in the park and none of the streets leading to attractions are marked. There was supposed to be a weekend shuttle to take visitors to the attractions. That never showed up either. Park was a...More

Ok it's massive. Really nothing prepares you for the size of the park. It's worth hiring a bike to take it all in. You must see the Japanese tea garden.

Loved it! So much to see and we spent hours wandering around enjoying the sun. The rose garden is wonderful and the lakes are great to relax by and take it all in.

You go through the park to get to a number of things like the De Jong museum and the aquarium. Its a nice walk on a hot day and well kept.

We just wanted some sun and fresh air. We walked through some forest with towering redwoods, checked out the rose garden, the Japanese tea-garden and we were going to go into the Botanical gardens but we balked at the cost, especially after payment to enter...More

This is a "must see" place and there is so much to see and do! Made me wish I lived in San Francisco - I would be there every chance I got. We barely skimmed the surface due to our time constraints. So we ended...More

Questions & Answers
Is it safe to visit GGP? I’ve become concerned about going to GGP, after reading numerous negative reviews here on TA. Some travellers have described it as unsavoury, dangerous, dirty or filled with drug addicts and homeless people! My wife and I are in our late 50’s and we will be visiting SF for the first time in Sept from Australia. We’re not exactly adventure tourists who can be ready for anything! My wife especially is quite nervy, so although I have included GGP as one of the places to see, I’m now beginning to wonder whether we should just drop it. I would however like to go to the De Young Museum, so maybe we should just visit that one place and then get out. The day we plan to visit is a Sat. Not sure if that makes it better or worse? Any tips to stay safe if we do go? Thanks
