If you like being up in above the water in seeing it from the view that’s up high to see the waves in the water and people doing stuff who are small like ants down there than this is a great place and I go...More

This view is fantastic and I think I should have been here in the morning at dawn, instead of at dusk. The light was great on the day I was there and the sky was pretty clear. You can hike the area or just park...More

The remains of a once-grand mansion make for a haunting visit to this oceanside park. However, a few apparently homeless people lurking about and an overall lack of maintenance make it less than grand. But look past the shortcomings and visit during the daytime. The...More

Don’t let the gate across the entrance on Point Lobos fool you -- that’s to keep cars out, not pedestrians. I was a little concerned it’d be too empty for a woman walking alone, but there are volunteer gardeners working there, people walking their dogs,...More

See the edge of the world. View the ruins of the largest bath house on the West Coast, get there easily by bike, car, bus. Wear sunscreen for wind and sun, you can burn in the SF fog too. Bring a jacket, wear layers.

Sutro Heights is a great place to get away from it all. You can wander through grounds of Adolph Sutro's estate and work your way over to ocean view and soak it all in. Displays tell you a little about the man and the site....More

When we visited San Francisco in June, we spent some time at Sutro Heights Park and it is well worth a visit. We had visited Golden Gate Park and just headed a little north along the coast to reach Sutro Heights Park. It offers beautiful...More

Went on a Sunday afternoon. There was plenty of parking and the crowds were reasonable. Very relaxing.

This park is on the hill above Cliff house and the Sutro Baths. It is quiet and dog-friendly. It used to be the Home of Adolf Sutro himself (Former Mayor of San Francisco 1895-1897), but it fell into disrepair and only a few things remain...More
