Pricey but great experience

I'm not sure why it has this name because it isn't very Asian looking. It is a fine place to look at movies.

It's clean, the food is good, and its an experience geared towards adults especially if you sit in the balcony or the bar areas. Reserved seating is ideal. We're both over 6' tall and find the seating to be comfortable at our height.

They have a really good concession stand and a nice bistro that serves alcohol. Most auditoriums are quite small, so depending on which film you are going to see or in which auditorium it'll be shown, the overall experience can be very underwhelming. You can watch any film for $6 all day on Tuesday. Not a terrible theatre, but I've... More

I went to see a movie here and nearly froze to death. The coldest I have ever been at a movie theatre. In addition, a man sat down next to me who was clearly drunk yet kept drinking throughout the movie. It was disgusting but seats are assigned so you can't just pick up and move away to another seat.... More

I had never been to a cinema in SF but wound up coming here twice. The cream soda is INSANELY good! Other than that, the popcorn is pretty standard. The tickets to a film are $14.50 which is quite a bit more than what I pay in Denver, but it was still a pretty good experience!

They have a good lineup of indie, foreign and art films at the Kabuki; it's readily accessibly to public transit (the 22 and 38 buses in particular); and they have a couple of bars. And those bars have happy hours. While it's nice that you can reserve a seat, it can actually be problematic that you have to - like... More

Pleasant reserve seating. Basic drama audio sufficient. Screen size supports same. Thirty dollars bottle beer & glass wine makes one an extra in movie holdup.

Every Tuesday, all day, all films are $6! Great films and comfy reserved seats with a glass of wine or cold beer... what a nice way to spend a Tuesday. And... all popcorn, except buckets, are $6 too! The favorite movie spot in San Francisco has just gotten even better.

Love this cinema, as it stands out for it's over 21 shows. You find movie lovers here, not serial texters. It is comfortable, the staff are friendly and the sound and screen sizes are perfect. If you want to escape for a few hours, I recommend this cinema unreservedly.

The Kabuki has nice gimmick. - Over + 21 shows , where you can take your food and drinks - wine and/or beer - in with you. The refreshments aren't cheap, but what is in SF. They run standard Hollywood fare and indie films
