Like the runt of a litter , but a fun drive

Lombard gets all the attention and with the flowers and brick it is much prettier . However Vermont is great since you don't have to deal with bumper to bumper traffic or... read more

I live a few blocks from this street and was pleasantly surprised to find it! If you want to avoid the traffic and glitter of Lombard's crooked street come to this local secret. Not as colorful but certainly the most crookedest. By the way, there is a park at the top of the street before heading down it with a... More

Are you kidding? I've lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for more than 25 years and I've never seen Vermont Street until today. This is truly a utilitarian crooked street, and it's just as crooked as Lombard Street. It doesn't have the beautiful flowers and the pretentious homes, but it is definitely worth going well out of your way... More

Lombard gets all the attention and with the flowers and brick it is much prettier . However Vermont is great since you don't have to deal with bumper to bumper traffic or pedestrians standing in the middle of the road . If you are coming into the city along 101 (NB) it's very simple . There is a Vermont Street... More

I took some relatives on a first time visit and did the insider city tour by car and had read that Lombard is not actually the steepest or crookedest street in the City - so headed there and it was blast! Let's you see lots of the City and we followed with Lombard which we mocked all the way down!

There is always going to be debate whether Lombard (more turns) or Vermont (steeper turns - more turns per meter) is the most crooked street in San Francisco ... for now, I would say you do not need to make a decision. Vermont Street is a residential street in Potrero Hill...nice, but probably not worth the visit unless you really... More

Worthwhile going to just to say that you were there. It was a little confusing getting there, but once there it's a quick (not too quick, it's steep and very windy) trip. Kinda a long run for a short slide, but still glad I went. BTW, it is definitely more crooked than Lombard Street. No question.

Despite Lombard Street's claim evidence suggests that this street is genuinely the crookedest street in the world. As most people believe the tourism board's mistaken claim that Lombard Street is the crookedest street in the world, Vermont Street is absolutely free from tourists! Vermont Street is accessible using the number 19 bus from Eighth Street in downtown San Francisco.

A quiet gem hidden in a sunny neighborhood of San Francisco. Nice to walk around, fun to drive, you can ride bicycle downhill. SF Muni bus 19 stops a block away, and also goes to Civic Center Bart train station.

It was Such an Experience to Finally go down San Franciscos Crookedest Street! I know its hard to believe that Vermont Street is more Crooked than Lombard but it really is! Its funny to because man of the locals in San Francisco do not even know that Vermont Street even Exists! But Trust Me It Does. With One Less Turn... More
