The Famous Farmers Market

If you like outdoor markets, this is the one with lots of exotic produce, mostly from nearby gardens. Some prepared foods as well. Popular with the locals.

Friendly and festive are the flavors that best describe this open air grocery store in the theatre district of San Francisco. Whether you're looking for fresh picked asparagus, pink oyster mushrooms, or strawberries, this is the place to create a scrumptious meal. Shoppers Tip: Take time to sit and enjoy street musicians sipping a latte with beans from Ecuador.

The best thing about the market was this honey roasted almond butter I found, they gave you tastes. It had a great flavor with out being too sweet. They also had good looking fruits and seasonal veges. Here's a good tip if you are driving. There is free parking on Sundays on the top side of the market, right across... More

Can't count the number of times I've been to the Farmers market but it never gets old. There maybe less vendors when it's cold out but if you want some good eats, some good produce, or some junk to take home this is the place. It's always busy and nice to see all the people out and about. Great for... More

What a fun place to visit on Saturday or Wednesday morning. So much to see and try and people watch. The day we were there just north of the market they had mobile vets to give vaccinations to homeless folks pets. Always a fun place and great food to pick up as well.

Always have the best and freshest fruit and produce. Love that there is Wed. and Sun. markets. This seasons' peaches are the sweetest. Melons are delicious too- bring your own bags or rolling cart. Prices are pretty reasonable too.

This farmers market is awesome, even my 13 year old requests to go. They have everything from fresh fruit to cheese to fish. The prices are great and the quality of food is even better. Get ready to spend some time there. You can get lost for hours exploring all the stands. Definitely worth the time.

The Farmers Market is a nice place to visit, but the homeless lying around on the venture to and from the market ruin the experience. The City needs to clean up their issue of homeless lying around, rummaging through garbage and pan handling.

Nestled in the heart of the city, there is a great variety of local produce to choose from. It's good for the whole family.
