We were looking for local things to with my friend I was visiting and this was a good choice. The price was right (free) as we have a whole week and not a load of vacation money, but this was very enjoyable. The guided tour...More

Really nice tour of the home--our Ranger Guide Layton was very informative and was able to answer lots of additional questions about the home. Home itself was interesting to go through---different architectural design than other homes of this period. The museum was small but packed...More

The history of our 17th President is clearly presented with a video, graphics and artifacts. Anyone interested in mid-19th century American history will find this attraction well worth your visit, and it is free of charge.

This was a wonderful experience to visit this location. We started at the visitor center where the Park Ranger was extremely helpful as to what to see and for restaurant suggestions. We then watched the 13 minute video summarizing Johnson's life, followed by a visit...More

We decide to check out this attraction on our way to Jonesborough, TN. We learned a lot about the former President Andrew Johnson. The staff were very knowledgeable and eager to help answer questions we had during and after the self-guided tour.

If you are a history buff, this is a nice little stop. Andrew Johnson's tailor shop has been preserved inside of visitors center. The town is very picturesque.

I would check out the visitor center. The exhibits are informative and Pres. Johnson's tailor shop is in there. Also, the view from Pres. Johnson's grave is worth the short drive over there.

The website mentions a Christmas closure, but I don't see a New Year's one mentioned. You might want to try calling them sometime this week or next so you don't drive over there just to be disappointed.
