Located a short drive from the visitors center with ample parking this is a key site to visit while at the battlefield. You can walk down and over the bridge. This allows you to study the positions of the Union and Confederate troops.

We found this very interesting. It was easy to get to. I was very surprised by the terrain that the union had to transverse.

Excellent stop on the auto tour. Easy hike down and being able to see it with your own eyes really helps to bring the whole battle all together in my head.

I found it interesting that this location seems to be the best known from this battle, yet it's reallly no more or less important than any of the other focal points. That said, it was neat to see and learn about all that happened here....More

This incident was coming to the conclusion of the entire battle. What was striking is that so few confederates were able to hold off several regiments of federal troops.

Located within the Antietam battlefield the Burnside bridge is a short walk down a fairly steep grade from a small parking lot. There is a sidewalk and it is accessible to most. Beautiful scenery around the site of an historic conflict.

Having never been there before, it is hard for me to fully comprehend the battle that took place on this bridge. Very intriguing and interesting if you love civil war history. Amazing that the tree beside it is still there yet today!!

When you take the tour on your car is stop 9. Don't know why this bridge is posted as a separate place as it is part of Antietam

It is easy to park in the bridge location and the parking is free. There is a ranger booth with information available. After parking it is the best just to hike in the area . That allows for much better understanding of topography and the...More

I believe it is $5.00 or $10.00 for vehicle. It's worth it though.
