Arches and Canyonland are fabulous but the Rt128 drive from RT70 to Moab was the most spectacular part of the trip. I recommend you take it for your arrival into Moab and when leaving take the less scenic 191 back to Rt70. We didn't know...More

The river was flowing very well due to run off and there was even more local snow added in the higher elevations. Huge camp of personal sized cabins at the ranch, with great views.

Stunning scenery all along the route. A photographers delight. Everywhere we look we expect the Apache to be standing on the ridge

We drove home via Hwy 128 and it had so many beautiful areas to see. The trees were changing colors and we had great places for pictures. There are several camping areas along the way and the river is beautiful. Great drive home.

We rafted down the Colorado with Cayon Voyages we took the full day float. This was fun and a nice break from our days hiking. The water was mild and refreshing in June. The tour guide was friendly and fun. We got a chance to...More

Its not just the river, but the scenic drive, photo stops along the way and the Fisher Towers hiking area out west of Moab. Its also a wonderful way to approach or leave Moab if you are coming from or heading to Grand Junction/Colorado and...More

What a pleasant surprise. We took Utah 128 north towards, Castle Canyon, Cisco, I-70 to return to Colorado after visiting Arches National Monument. Great return trip. You follow the Colorado River and it is like driving through the Grand Canyon. The river is dotted with...More

This is way way more scenic than most of the badged “scenic byways”. We had done the rather dismal Flaming Gorge route the day before and there is simply no comparison. From the point the gorge starts to the point you turn onto the main...More

I do not think you should let the kids play in the water. The river appears to me to be too fast and I did not see any calm areas.

The colorado riverway rund east from Moab or you can come from the east off of Interstate 70. You could do the drive as a day trip in about 3 hours from Moab to I-70 and then back to Moab. It is worth the time.
