This is perhaps the most scenic 40 miles or so in the United States! The views of the Colorado River and valley on Utah 128 are hard to beat. I'd love to spend a day floating down the river toward Moab. Every turn was more...More

It is worth taking this short detour from Moab. Great scenery of the mountains and Colorado River. You can find a place for a picnic, bike ride or stroll. Or, the more adventurous can go rafting!

Camping, picnicking, rafting, and other water activities are along the banks of the Colorado River, a short distance from Moab. We drove the canyon road, and had a picnic at a BLM park in the bend of the river.

If you are coming from Colorado toward Moab, jump off the main highway and drive Route 128. Breath takingly beautiful. Driving along the Colorado river.

Drive along the Colorado river as it cuts through steep canyons. Very pleasant and relaxing with many great views from your car. Take it slow and pull over to let the speeders pass. Many spots to pull over to admire the view.

What a drive. This route was recommended by Chip at Adrift Adventures. It was awesome. You couldn't help but drive slower than the speed limit to take in the views. It was great all the way to the Dewy Bridge.

Our first trip up this road was to look for BLM camping when we first got to town. By the time we reached Goose Island, the first campground, we were in a severe thunderstorm with monsoon rain and lightening. It was scary for someone who...More

Awe inspring Redsone canyon road along side the Colorado River should not be missed in near Moab. Just 1/2 hour from the two National Parks north of Moab, this drive is just as impressive.

There are small campgrounds along the river, very bare bones, with pit toilets and I think a running water source. We stopped to use the toilet at one. As mentioned there are a couple really nice Dude Ranches up towards... More
