Every rock, every drive, every road trip we took between Colorado and Utah is so amazing and Needles District is one of them. The rock formation is tall - just very nice and interesting drive and places we stop and travel. Would like to come...More

Only go to Needles if you are planning to camp out and do a lot of hiking. The rewards for day-tripping car drivers are not many. There is the wooden shoe arch which is cute but hardly worth it. I do recommend taking the road...More

This is one of my favorite drives in the universe! I love everything about Utah, but this section is one of the most beautiful. Ahhhh, the colors. You need to see it.

The road into the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park is pretty good all the way although there are sections that make you think the road might disappear. Fortunately, not a lot of traffic! The road itself is scenic, passing Ancient Puebloan and later petroglyphs,...More

The Needles District of Canyonlands is off hwy. 191. Visit Newspaper Rock on your way into the park. There are areas to hike, bike, picnic and take pictures. There are facilities to use as you visit the park.

The road to Needles is about 35 miles from the highway but is one of the prettiest we drove. The cottonwood trees were in bloom and it looked like a world of yellow. There is a pull off to view petrographs which you shouldn't miss.Once...More

Excellent 6 hours or so with a couple short hikes included. Only wish the road was not dead-end requiring turning around but you can pick different stops on the return! Be sure to stop at the Visitor's Center and pick your hiking destinations!
