Well worth a short diversion to look at the Rio Grande Gorge from the White Rock Overlook Park. The view is breathtakingly spectacular to the valley below. On the opposite side is a tall waterfall. We could hear the fall from the park. As you...More

A short walk from the parking lot brings you to a fenced overlook with great views of the Rio Grande, mesas, and distant mountains. Also seen from the trail -- pinon pine, Grama grass (did you know this is NM's state grass?), and lichen-covered volcanic...More

White rock overlook is all about the rock face looking like a crocodile! My photo hopefully captures that. A quick visit is recommended if you are in the area.

The Trip Advisor name of this park is a distraction. It's much more than just an overlook. No wonder other reviewers are saying that it's a beautiful view but not much to it. While one could just stop in a car at the Overlook, the...More

Scenic, easy stop off the highway while driving to Bandelier Nat'l Monument. View of the mountains, colorful hills, river and a thin waterfall. Especially impressive with fall colors along the river bank during early November.

If you're passing through the Los Alamos area, a stop at White Rock overlook really is worth the short detour off the road to Bandelier. Stunning view of the Rio Grande.

Sometimes you just get lucky while traveling. We had stayed in White Rock, a "suburb" of Los Alamos, one night on a vacation. We started a morning drive to Los Alamos when my companion suggested we stop at "Overlook Park," which was marked by a...More

Just down the road from the Bandelier Visitor Center, White Overlook Park is a must stop for anyone going by. Just park and take the short path to the lookout for an amazing view of the Rio Grande. Awesome.
