We hiked 5.6-Mile return trip from the Chisos Mountains Lodge in the afternoon in the early January. We hiked down and near the campground. If you like a shorter hike, you could hike from the campground. The hike was about 4 hours for us. We...More

We loved this hike. It has a beautiful view at sunset. There is a short hike and a long loop until the edge depending on what your party is upto. But regardless at sun set it's absolutely beautiful.

We hiked this trail (takes a couple of hours) on a grey, drizzly day, choosing to take the shortcut at the campgrounds. Very few others on the trail, and it was a beautiful hike with a couple of benches along the way if you want...More

Nice hike and the view at the end was better than we expected and well worth it. Unfortunately the chisos basin area was pretty crowded. There were a lot of other people on the trail. We wanted to do the lost mine trail but the...More

The window is a nice formation allowing you to watch the sun set from within the campground. It also allows for sun rays the sides and back of the basin, so don't forget to look all around you as the sun sets.

Staying at the lodge, made this hike well worth it. Take you time to look around and enjoy the views, plants, animals, birds and maybe a bear or two. Once arriving at the window, use caution if the water is running. The rocks get slippery,...More

No. Sorry just seeing this. Too many ways for a dog to get hurt. Also everywhere are warnings about bears and mountain lions. We have a hiking dog but I would never take her to being bend!
