About
The Fire Museum of Texas is housed in the historic 1927 Central Fire Station for the City of Beaumont. View interactive exhibits for the entire family that trace the history of the fire service in the state of Texas. Our exhibits explore equipment, trucks and fire fighting methods from the mid-1800s to the present. Perhaps one of the most comprehensive fire museums in the nation, our exhibits feature a 1856 Howle Hand Drawn Tub Pumper, a 1909 Ladder Truck and a 1931 REO Light Truck - the first of its kind in the entire world. An interactive Fire Safety House allows children to practice escaping from a house fire.

Loved the huge Dalmatian fire hydrant out front. (Pic op). Lots of interesting fire engines in the building and upstairs was a cute little area for kids to learn about fire safety. You can leave a donation , but it isn’t required.

We had a good time at this free museum. The exhibits on the first floor are very interesting. We went upstairs because the sign said safety exhibits. It is a great hands-on Exhibit for children. Once back downstairs, be sure to try on the gear & have your pic taken in the "fire truck" provided. The display outside is great too, especially the giant fire hydrant!

My kids age 11 to 2 loved this place. My sister rented a room here to host her sons party and it was a hit. So much to see and learn and a fire truck with sirens that the kids can sit in and try out as well as firefighter clothes to try on. Lots to look at for the adults to and so many great photo opportunities. This is a fun stop for all ages. Make sure you check out upstairs to. We almost didn't know it was there since you pass the stairs right as you walk in.

This is a great FREE museum. Lots of interesting exhibits and we loved seeing the old engines. The worlds largest fire hydrant is a cool photo opportunity too.

Read about this on trip advisor. Thought it was very intersting for a small museum. There were quite a few fire trucks and kids could try on fire fighter equipment. Glad we stopped.

They keep this place in great shape. All of the brass is polished on a continual basis. We live nearby and had always wanted to go. So when our grandchildren were in town we seized the opportunity! There were special things and places for the kids. The adults could spend more time reading about each exhibit while they could dress up, play, and work puzzles. They may very well have the most extensive display of restored fire trucks around. What's cool is that most of them can be driven (they are still in working condition). The fact that they are kept in such pristine condition just makes it that much better! All the facts and pictures are very interesting.

It was a rainy day but we weren't going to let that keep us from having a good time at the Fire Museum. I had my 11 yr old granddaughter and 9 year old grandson. They really enjoyed looking at all the fire trucks and my grandson really enjoyed putting on the bunker gear and pretend to be driving the truck that had been set up for kids to play on. On the 2nd floor they set up a 2 story kid sized house for the kids to learn about fire safety. We really enjoyed this museum and I would love to bring more of my grandchildren to see it. It is funded by donations instead of fees.

My 11 year old daughter says "It was fun and it was cool". We spent about 45min in there and it was completely free. Don't miss the upstairs. That was our favorite area.

Went in the middle of the day with a 3 year old and 2 month old. No one else there so we got to climb all over the upstairs safety exhibit and the fire truck. Safety exhibits would be more interesting for school age kids than the 3 year old, but she enjoyed the place.

This is not a world famous tourist attraction, but my firefighter hubby and I loved it. Lots of informative displays and excellently-restored trucks and equipment. We had a special treat when we got to talking to one of the guys who started the museum .... he was so nice and shared tons of stories and info with us. A great experience for us. I think non-firefighters and kids would enjoy it, too. It's very well done with excellent historical displays.
