We visited the French Broad River Brewery as part of our Asheville Brews Cruise. I give it a four-star rating not for the brewery experience but for the beers we tasted. This is the only brewery of four where we actually purchased six-packs of their...More

Decent tasting beer does not compensate for the pushing out of active, local art scenes. There are about fifty breweries in Asheville already who are *actually* local, not out-of-towners coming in and out placing artists, whose beer is as good and probably better. I urge...More

We wanted to visit French Broad while in town. It was a little hard to find but we found it. What a neat little place! I was excited to get the Rye Hopper Ale and we got a growler to go. There was live music....More

Best brown ale of four different ones tried here in Asheville. Better than Thirsty Monk. No food here, just good beer and decent music. Also rustic atmosphere.

Arrived in town and wanted some local "flavor" and saw there was a duo called the Casmonautz playing at FBRB. First impressions when walking in is this is a serious brewers hobby with a few tables for friends to hang out. That said, it works...More

This is one stop on the Amazing Pub Cycle tour. The Pub was very crowded but the bartenders were quick. This is another of the many cool places to hang out in Asheville.

We were brewery hopping and heard about this place so we stopped in for a pint. The place is small but since the weather was nice we sat outside and chatted up with some locals. I'm sure we'll be back because the beer was good,...More

We were very surprised to see that something that is part of Biltmore Village is not only scary looking, but pretty much was useless to us. We walked out because when we walked in, the person at the bar never acknowledged us. There was no...More

We were just passing thru so I didn't have time to drink drafts. Tried to grab some bottled or canned brew from some of the local breweries. Was looking for something small scale like this that I can't get at home (Highlands, Greenman, etc. can...More

Another brewery stop on our Asheville trip. This was a very small place with mostly locals. Pretty neat place though but only about 4 or 5 brews on tap. Mostly inside seating and no food available that I saw. We would go back again though.
