We stopped in here to catch the trolley. They provide lots of brochures full of information about Asheville and surrounding areas. Lodging, restaurants, activities and tours. They also have a gift shop with items made by local artists and craftsmen. Free parking and clean restrooms.

Found the staff here to be very helpful. There was quite a selection of information available including maps. Free parking available for day if you can find a spot. Always like to start visit to new area at the visitor center.

You can get tickets for the bus tour which is worth it. Otherwise you will find helpful staff here to answer questions and offer advice for your visit. Brochures as you'd expect.

You can pick a lot of different tours or get information on hikes, waterfalls, or books on the area. There is a gift shop to buy souvenirs,and snacks and drinks as well.

This is well worth a stop to purchase tickets and also for information. A very helpful and friendly member gave us detailed infomration and a map for GREAT hiking in Warm Springs which was a 23 mile thru the countryside.

You will find several recommendations about hotels/motels to stay at in the area with some discounts, but I don't think they give any specific recommendations because they can't show favoritism to any particular hotel/motel... More
