My boyfriend is a book worm so I took him here as part of his birthday surprise. We ordered lattes with cheese, crackers, cherries and olives as an appetizer before we went to dinner. The staff was really helpful and there was a guy playing live, peaceful music on his guitar. I've never been a fan of book store, but... More

What a fun used book store with books and quaint seating around every turn. The first floor has a beautiful wine and champagne bar. This is a great little gem of a stop in Asheville. I recommend to all book lovers searching for a bargain or searching for that rare first edition -- all while sipping on your favorite vino... More

What a gem! This place is soooooo unique and original it's worth investing at minimum 1 hour. It's a readers paradise but, it's not just for scholars. It's a 2 level bookstore within a 1929 beautiful building with mixed furnishings from every time period serving fantastic champagnes, wines, cheese trays and coffees- it's a bookstore of old books where locals... We were so excited to visit the Champagne Bar as we had heard so much about it....however the very uninterested and cold employees definitely put a damper on our visit. The champagne and food we enjoyed were great and the atmosphere was awesome but the rude employees were terrible.

Wonderful, chill, relaxed atmosphere. Lots of nooks for reading and enjoying a fresh cup of coffee. Would highly recommend visiting, even if you have no intents on purchasing books!

Great romantic cute spot to simply relax. You can sit inside on the couches or outside and enjoy the people walking by. Sometimes there are street vendors outside selling local art. Nice variety of champagne as well as a great coffee bar. You may even want to buy a book.

It's not everyday you can drink prosecco while you shop for books! Such a fun experience and very romantic.

An old store front with small spaces and millions of books, get lost in their aisles , up the smalls stairs for more books... left right down again... what an adventure , just go for a stroll or stop for champagne and a good antique book.. it is a must see

I simply love coming here when in town. It's such a wonderful place to sit and relax with a new (to me) book, newspaper and a cup of coffee or later in the day a cool refreshing cocktail. They have a good selection of new and gently used books.
