My wife and I are regulars to the asheville area. I must say, at least every other time we make it into asheville, we make a stop at Woolworth Walk. It is one of my favorite spots for awe and inspiration. If you enjoy art...More

This gallery space is in the old Woolworths store which has preserved its 1960s lunch counter where you can still grab some food or drink. Dozens of artists have individual stalls on two levels with many different styles and media represented. Most of the items...More

This old Woolworth, complete with art deco facade and working soda fountain, has been converted into an art gallery. Everything from wood carvings to metal sculpture to painting - and all of it very high quality. We went in and wandered around several times during...More

This is a collection of small booths that sell art and crafts on consignment. Because of the way that consignment shops work, prices can be a little high in order that the artist can make some money and pay the consignment fees. There is pretty...More

I love this place! I always have to come here when I'm in Asheville. The staff are always so nice and the food is great! In addition to the sofa fountain there are 2 floors of art to browse and buy.

In true Asheville tradition, the concept of buying local and staying weird is very clearly evident. With two floors of variety, there's creativity everywhere! Even better, though, is the historical significance of the Woolworth counter. And even though Asheville's sit-in was not as notable as...More

Last time I was in Asheville, Woolworth's was still a department store. That was over 40 years ago. They've kept the food counter, but the rest of the place has been divided into an artist coop with multiple booths displaying a wide variety of art....More
