Great architecture and soda fountain that takes you back to the '50s and '60s. We browsed the numerous artist exhibits, purchased some local art, and topped it off with an old fashioned ice cream soda. Close to Trolley stop and great restaurants for lunch.

Very good lay out - awesome Soda Fountain Shop. But no instructions on what to do, to see items locked in a glass cabinet.

If walking around downtown, stop in here and grab something at the old fashion soda fountain bar. Visit the many local artist booths and always a busker for music outside.

2 floors of totally boring art crap. Only cool thing is the old school diner. Seriously nothing going on here

I was in hopes of seeing many good examples of local art, but it was rather sparse. There is a nice "soda bar" like Woolworths used to have long ago. That was fun!

Very well done. Arts and a milkshake. I even saw a traditional southern fried bologna sandwich on the menu. The artists that have their work here are extremely talented and have several things you can purchase for your home. Really need to take a break from your street shopping here and get a soda as you stroll in a very... More

The old Woolworth Bldg had fallen in to disrepair before being turned into a center for many local artists to display their wares in individual booths. The bldg is large and includes a full size downstairs - the "bargain basement " of old. In addition there is a classic lunch counter with shakes, sandwiches and ice cream sundies. The quality... I love coming to this former Woolworth's complete with the luncheon diner that still serves up fried bologna sandwiches! The artwork is excellent and you'll find something you can afford. My only problem is the heat, it's always so hot in there we don't get to stay as long as we'd like! Someone turn the heat down, please!

This gallery is very typical of Asheville - eclectic. This two story space features a series of artist booths. There are trinkets and pictures of mountains displayed along with fine-art sculpture, photography and oils. A must stop with a cute little lunch counter that serves up delicious food and ice cream treats.

There are so many arts and crafts cooperatives like this place that have works of questionable quality. Here you will see the usual photos, paintings, jewelry and so on, but they are lovely work and of artistic value. Prices reflect value, but there are many pieces worth taking home or buying as a gift. Bonus is the Woolworth lunch counter,... More
