A bit out of town and not your typical destination, this was just about my favorite thing in Asheville. Touring a chairmaker's factory may not sound like a ball of fun, but we all enjoyed it. The finished products are among the most beautiful furniture I have every seen. The tour was interesting and thoughtful. There is still talent and... More

Brian's furniture pieces are so divine and well-considered that just visiting his shop and having him explain what he does is a great treat.

I was a bit blown away to see this young guy sitting there Caning a chair. He has a museum of American and European chairs. He offers classes and is happy to talk to you about chairs and answer questions. I felt as if I discovered a little hidden gem while showing my family around the River Arts District

I suggest you call before going to Brian's workshop. Just to make sure they will be able to accommodate you. This is a very personal tour. Brian's wife, Melanie started our tour and answered all of our questions. Brian also was willing to demonstrate and talk to us about his process and the evolution of his chairs. We aren't woodworkers... More

We arrived a bit early and got to walk around their showroom- the chairs and tables are beautiful and are works of very high craftsmanship. The tour lasted an hour and was very informative. Learned about the multiple processes that go into making a table or chair. Very informative, we would recommend it.

This is an amazing company! Be sure to go at 2pm and take their tour - it's free & worth your time! We learned all about the trees and how they are harvested in Central America. We saw the employees working on making chairs and a table - everything is made by hand. They are experienced wood workers. We learned... More

Very personable staff. We received a private tour from Brian himself. Very impressive operation from a gracious host.

This is so much more than a woodworker's shop. The tour is about art, structural engineering, furniture design, sustainable forestry, and figuring how to make things better. If you do any kind of woodworking this is a must stop. Brian makes scale models of his furniture and those are amazing all by themselves.

I went on the 2pm tour with my father who was visiting from Maine. He is a woodworker and was excited to see Brian Bogg's workshop on a drive so we made sure to come back for the tour. My only experience with woodworking was in middle school when my dad tried to teach me how to carve, but I... More

While visiting my daughter and family in Asheville, I happened to see Brian Boggs sign for his workshop and stopped in to see what was there. I took the free tour and was thoroughly impressed with the facility and quality of craftsmanship which was displayed as well as the genuine interest in making me feel welcome and answering all my...
