I was so overwhelmed with all that there was to see in terms of arts and handcrafted goods in Asheville. And all so pleasing! So many different aesthetics and perspectives.

We loved the Lift! He was a very different, smart artist with a great collection of very unique and well thought-felt art. Walking around it's pleasant, you can get little souvenirs or printed art and they have cool restaurants, my personal favorite was White Duck...More

We've watched the Broadway area change from shuttered storefronts to interesting shops, restaurants, and bars.

If you love the arts and crafts, you will enjoy this area. We were there at the end of July. We enjoyed the shops and galleries.

Yep! It’s weird! I love art and appreciate it very much but this place is very odd. All the art looks all the same with its tie dye hippie vibe and skulls. The shops are spread too far apart and we were harassed by beggars....More

The various art studios are spread out too far apart to really enjoy them. I do not want to hop back in my car each time to visit studios. Disappointing

Dear Gary B, I believe you are referring to the River Arts District, not the Downtown Asheville Arts District where there are many art galleries in close proximity to each other.

During the summer months every week they have a gather to listen to music on the grounds in downtown. Throughout the city you can see the artistry.
