This old cemetery is wonderful to walk around in and just to sit and ponder. Several famous people are buried here.

This is a pleasant walk through the past and close to a nice amphitheater. Fun to look at the graves of such famous contemporary American writers.

This was a highlight of a recent family visit. We took the Thomas Wolfe house tour and then came to the cemetery to visit his family gravesite.

We saw this cemetery while on a Segueway tour. It is a historic cemetery (Thomas Wolfe, Gov. Vance are buried there), It is still "in use" so be respectful of funerals in progress.

We were looking for the asylum where Zelda Fitzgerald lost her life (like that really cured her depression, for good!) when we came across this place. reminds me of the cemeteries in Paris... no Oscar Wilde here, but O Henry is (not to be confused with the candy bar, OK?)! hey, i could spend a lifetime here...as many are!

We went and walked around, took pics of some interesting headstones. Shame there has been some vandalized. Then a storm blew in and we had to leave.

I like to visit historic cemeteries. This was not as good as some of the others I've been too. Not too many interesting markers, but still a nice place to visit if you like this kind of thing.

Always stop to see Thomas Wolfe and O. Henry when I'm in town. This is a lovely cemetery with beautiful monuments. Very peaceful walk. However, no dogs allowed, but you can understand why.

This was a great side trip if you are interested in cemeteries. They didn't have as many statues as other cemeteries we've toured but it was beautifully laid out and there were some very old stones. It was a little sad that some of the statues that were there were missing their heads (may have had a vandal issue in the... More

This is a very serene cemetary with historic figures buried here. Worth the long walk around the cemetary.
