I hadn't participated in a drum circle for something like 20 years, so I made sure to pack my drum for our anniversary trip to beautiful Asheville. Typical of circles, this is a very informal, laid-back scene. There's a large area on the steps reserved...More

While researching things to do in Asheville, we came across the drum circle and looked forward to seeing it. As it turns out, it is interesting for about 5 minutes. After that, it just becomes a constant beating sound in your head that won't go...More

We love to get to Asheville on Friday nights so we can stop by the drum circle. Not only are the main performers fun to watch, but I like to watch the others who come with their drums and sit on the steps. They seem...More

Unless you're into drumming, it was a great attraction to see and pass by, but not an evening event. Great to see the community come together, but just a passing attraction for my teens and I.

We happened upon this walking downtown and was drawn into watching for a bit. It is well worth stopping for the music and people watching!

Was very disappointed in this event. Was in shock of the area and attendees. Felt very unsafe and area is not policed. I have had to change my original review as I used actual words to describe types of people here, not only for drum...More

See todays' hippies and locals gather in a peaceful loving place to play drums, dance, and just love life. Get it on your schedule....Friday nights!

Only in Asheville will you be able to enjoy a drum circle in the downtown area on Friday nights. People of every ethnicity, size, and income can't help but dance or sway to the beat.

Was downtown on a recent Friday and got to see and hear drum circle. Such an interesting and fun happening. Overall a peaceful, coming together experience which is so needed at this time.

I think it's "bring your own drum" but maybe another traveller knows better. Either way, it's a lot of fun, even if you just go to watch and listen and dance!
