You have to do the Harbor Walk. Boston is famous for it’s harbor from the Tea Party Rebellion to the shipping and warehousing, from the North End to the Southport area there is so much to see. The area is very walkable. I suggest beginning at the Aquarium and head South Cross over by the Boston Tea Party and cut back over toward the water and walk along the area of the Southport. There are pictures of the water area, boats, and buildings along the way to take. You could end your walk at the harpoon Brewer and then begin your walk back, see if you can find the carousel as you travel back to the North End. The waterfront is fantastic and you should make a point to take a walk here. And best of all – it is free.

We have walked the freedom trail several times when our children were younger. We had never done the Harborwalk, I had never heard of it before seeing it spoken of on this site. It was a fun walk.

A lovely walk all around the harbor area, very cold and windy day so several pit stops in cafes etc were essential

We were lucky, unbelievable warm days in October to stroll by the river, so very enjoyable views along the walkways. Take it, enjoy it.

The harborwalk which extends along the harbour front allows visitors to see both the city & the harbour. It shows what is possible when working harbours are returned to the public for the enjoyment of walking, sitting & taking it all in.

A great way to see the bay and explore the history of Boston Harbor. And the fresh seafood at historic restaurants is enough reason to be there.

We were here by boat and the view from the dock was terrific. Beautiful city and the great weather helped a lot. The parks were really nice plus a city to walk.

Went for a walk after dinner near Long Wharf and found a live band playing on a floating stage behind the Boston Harbor Hotel. We managed to find a table, had a drink and watched a set of a great little band. All free, except the drinks (and food if you want).

No you cannot walk to this location from the airport. Depending on the time and traffic, you can take an Uber, Lyft, Taxi, Ferry (drops you off at the Aquarium) or Train.
