My daughter and I really enjoyed our food/history tour of the North End last weekend with Ingrid. Despite the bitter cold weather, it was fun to walk through the snow-covered streets (there had been a blizzard the previous day), sampling food at several different places (we especially loved the three pasta dishes at Artu and learning about olive oil and... I'm happy you embraced the whole experience, including the blizzard the day before! The rest of this week will be in the 60's, so you can never tell what the weather in New England will bring. Ingrid is a great guide and brings a wealth of knowledge about Italian cooking and cuisine to the North End tours. I'll share your... More

My husband, son and I were visiting our daughter who attends college in Boston and thought we'd take the walking food tour of the North End. It was very nice and much more than a food tour. Diane, our guide, added so much history to the tour that made it interesting. We plan on doing the South End tour next... More

Took the tour yesterday with Diane and thankfully the weather was cooperative. Diane could not have been better. Food tours are a great way to taste local flavor and to learn a little about the city. We did have a 10 and 13 year old and it may have gotten a tad long for them but they were troopers. All... More

Thank you for your wonderful comments. We do run our tours year round and it can get cold in Boston in the fall. Thankfully , the stops on the North End tour are no more than a couple blocks apart, to give guests time to warm up. Thank you for your comment about the soda stop. This particular stop has... More

Had a great time yesterday on the Yummy Walks tour of Bostons North End/Little Italy. Diane was a super tour guide with tons of little factoids of the neighborhood and history of Boston. Very happy we did the tour, not to mention all the food samples where great. #yummywalksfoodtours #yummywalks

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and interesting. Loved the variety of foods. Must return to the new Boston market which had so many different foods from New England. Fun tour for tourists as well as locals who want a Boston refresher.

Our guide Ingrid made the tour, she was wonderful! Learned a lot of history about the North End. The food stops were good. Could have replaced the "soda" stop with something better or offered couple other beverage options like Expresso maybe? At the sit down restaurant in other food tours I have gone on the chef or owner would come... More

Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate you taking a Yummy Walk. Ingrid is truly a wonderful guide and I'm glad you enjoyed her presentation. Our beverage stop offers guests a choice of a variety of Italian drinks that are often not available in other establishments and the choices change seasonally. Meeting the chef or owner is not an expectation... More

Chloe presented us with a good mix of history and yummy food. Really enjoyed everything but my favorites - trip to Boston Market and the Boston Creme Cupcake! Yummy! Liked ending on the Colonial traditional Indian Pudding.

Visited Boston for the first time with my elderly mom and aunt and uncle - this was a great way to take in food, history and a little exercise (pretty much anyone that can walk would enjoy this). Chloe really added to the experience with her fun facts and leisurely pace - we never felt rushed and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.... More

Our tour guide gave us really interesting insights into spots on the Freedom Trail! We started with the best lobster bisque at Moo. . . The yummy comes in with Sweet cupcakes (who knew it was a Puritan idea!) and donuts from the Boston Public Market. We had the perfect ending at THE Union Oyster House in the Freedom Trail... More

We are glad you enjoyed the food and tour and appreciate your suggestions. The Freedom Trail does go through the heart of the city and so there is street noise. Unfortunately , the City of Boston , does not permit amplifiers to conduct tours in the city. Please try our Seafood and Chowda Tour next time you are here-its in... More

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
