I attend Arlington Street Church every Sunday that I can. The minister, Rev. Kim Crawford-Harvie, always seems to know what I need to hear from her sermons. And the building itself is absolutely beautiful, especially the one-of-a-kind collection of beautiful Tiffany windows. After Sunday services, plan to go downstairs for lunch! There's always delicious homemade soups, sandwiches, vegan dishes, and... More

Arlington Street Church was built between 1859–1861 on newly filled land in Boston’s Back Bay. It is famous for its glorious Tiffany stained glass windows, believed to be the largest collection of Tiffany windows in any one church. You are free to wander round the church to admire the windows, but a good way to see them is to take... More

We were passing and dropped in to see the recently restored Tiffany windows. The windows surpassed any expectations we might have had. There are about 20 large panes on two levels, nicely set in the light and spacious church. The afternoon sun lit them to full advantage. There is an excellent picture brochure explaining each of the windows and we... More

We attended this church when we lived in Boston, and still consider it our spiritual home. The building itself was the first public building to be built in Back Bay. The Tiffany Stained glass windows are an inspiration. And hearing the bells chime always makes me smile. Christmas Eve services are simply amazing...not to mention Sunday services throughout the year.

One of the first Unitarian Churches in the country, this beautiful place of worship boasts many original Tiffany leaded glass windows. Every Sunday at 11AM, this friendly, welcoming congregation shares some of the best music in town directed by Mark David Buckles along with inspiring talks by Reverend Kim and shared candelight prayers of joy & sorrow. Opportunities for volunteerism... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
