Learn about Boston's macabre past and its dark shrouded history of witches,...

Learn about Boston's macabre past and its dark shrouded history of witches, executions, strange events, ghastly court records, and ancient tunnels. Long before the "BIG DIG" (the nickname of our underground highway project, which became the largest public works project in history), ghoulish creatures have been known to roam secret tunnels below Boston's north end. Hear spine tingling tales on the lantern tour as you walk through the city by candlelight through the dark alleys and little used corridors. You will discover another side of the city that most have never seen. SEE BOSTON BY NIGHT on this amazing and interesting tour. Professional guides will walk you through the most historic parts of the city. Narrating the tour at certain points of interest, and answering your many questions along the way.

Did this years ago with my friends and family. One of the most memorable excursions ever! We have traveled the world and this was one of the most fun things to do!

When you have seven and nine year old girls in Boston, what activities will they like? The Ghost tour fit the bill. They loved it. Though not recommended for all young children, these girls thought it was great and had no residual nightmares. One of the girls was given the task of holding the lantern and walking with the guide... More

Not only was this tour mis-represented as a "ghost tour," but it was lead by someone who seemed to know almost nothing about the city itself! We did not hear one ghost story the entire time and were left following a guide around the city who got us lost and asked us to tip doormen of places we went into.... More

My 11yr old daughter wanted to do a ghost walk in Boston but I did not want something too scarey. Had taken a tour in Plymouth with this company last year so we decided to try their Boston tour. Tyler was the guide. He was great. He was full of fantastic historical info about the various sites. Not frightening so... More

Ty McGee was an honor to tour with. My girlfriend and I lucked out and were the only ones on a Tuesday night tour. It was awesome. Ty provided a great mix of history and spook. Would love to do it again with a bigger group! The tour is fast paced, though, so if walking around for awhile isn't for... More

Years ago, we did our first ghost tour from the same tour company in Plymouth. We have yet to top that one. Since then, inspired by that tour, we have taken ghost tours both in U.S. cities and abroad. Last Thursday night, we did the Boston Ghost & Legends Tour. It was the worst one we've been on, anywhere. Apparently,... More

I'm finally getting a chance to write a review of the Boston Ghost & Legends Lantern tour. I think that this is Bostons best ghost tour. I have been on three ghost tours with different companies in the city (I have lived in Boston for 5 years and am a huge history and ghost fan). - This tour gives you... More

My daughter bought the tickets through Groupon, so we got two tickets for $25. We had Jim D., and he was very good at entertaining us with his ghost tales and history. This was a very enjoyable tour for us, but don't expect to see any spirits or orbs. If you like history, you'll be glad you went! The lanterns... More

We had a Groupon for this, so my rating is based on paying $25 for TWO people (I WOULDN'T have done it for $25 EACH). This was a nice fall activity. The tour lasted 2 hours (we were told 90 minutes, but I certainly don't mind more...) and we got a good mix of ghost tales and history of Boston.... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
