Nice intimate setting, but drinks are a bit pricey

Attended a show last night at Sculler's; our first time at the venue. Overall seating was tight as you might expect, but not cramped. Decent sight lines to the stage. Staff was... read more

Used to be a regular at Scullers. Had been away a while but came for a performance earlier this month, which was my first time in the new downstairs venue. What a horrid disappointment! The original upstairs room had some real warmth and character, but the new downstairs room has all the charm of a dental office. Problems: 1. The... More

This was by far my favorite place to see a show for years! Fred Taylor does a fabulous job booking the room, but since the hotel chain took over, it has gone down hill. The woman seating people is downright rude and literally pushed the buyer out of the way while we were speaking - you cannot move in your... More

Attended a show last night at Sculler's; our first time at the venue. Overall seating was tight as you might expect, but not cramped. Decent sight lines to the stage. Staff was friendly. I found the drink prices to be a bit on the pricey side and you will pay at least $10 for parking in the garage. Also, if... More

We have been to Scullers many times. Always enjoyed the venue, felt like an old time 40s club...now it's moved downstairs in what seems like an old conference room. Atmosphere is gone. Squeezed into tables. Because venue is larger people in the back feel they can talk out loud and disturb the show. Waitress service was very slow. Heat was... More

Scullers has moved from the warm, intimate space upstairs to a bland, windowless lobby-level space. Gone is the charming welcome; it's a bit frantic now. The new club looks like it seats more people than the original, and it feels impersonal. Friday night, there was a large birthday party in the back of the club during the show. The roughly... More

Scullers Jazz Club has been presenting some of the top names in jazz for more than 25 years. The music is first-rate, the setting is attractive, seating is comfortable (although somewhat tightly packed - but that adds to the excitement), and the club serves food (pretty good, not great) and drinks of course. Validated parking is available as well. If... More

Like most Top Jazz venues in the United States and abroad (Blue Note, Jazz Standard, Ronnie Scotts) they pack you in. In my opinion the food is not worth the money (at any of them) and service is sketchy at best. But when you hit one of these spots on a good night with an artist you love...well, the experience... Scullers is an embarrassment. The green room - avoid it. Grace Kelly is oversold as a saxophonist and is a terrible singer. Never again!

We have done the three course dinner with a concert a few times before here at the DoubleTree and Scullers, but this time the meal was terrific, the service smooth and comfortable. The concert was wonderful and we plan to pay attention to concerts coming up.

Hostess had a miserable disposition. We learned later after asking our waitress about a table move and she said the best we could do was ask the manager. Seems hostess with miserable disposition and the club manger with a miserable disposition is the same person. We just moved ourselves. Half empty little hotel club. Waitress a bit slow but very pleasant... More
