Went to see Tedeschi Trucks. Susan Tedeschi is a local, so it was sure to be great! And it was. The Theater is incredibly historic. That is both the up side and the... read more

So many great shows have passed through this place. It feels cozy while still holding large crowds. Great acoustics but small seats. Make sure you like the people next to you.

I enjoyed the Orpheum. I read the other reviews about its state of disrepair, but that's not what I would choose to talk about. The bathroom was clean my event priced beer (always expensive no matter the event or venue)was cold and fresh. I love concerts in this size venue. Every seat is a good seat. The sound quality was... I went to see Puscifer here VIP. I was able to get close to the act and interact with it in spectacular fashion. The architecture and the building itself are old, but it gives it character. If a performer you have is coming here and you want to get close then you need to get tickets.

We went to see Norah Jones, who was fabulous, but the theatre experience was tortuous. Imagine the Bat Cave reeking of stale beer, without all the cool toys, at about 45 degrees, with 60 years of dirt and a staff that is indifferent to your presence. That's the Orpheum Theatre experience. The bones of this historic theatre provide the potential... More

Had seats upstairs, but too close to the stage. When the tall person in front of us leaned forward to get a better view, it totally blocked my view. Seats are okay if you are 5 feet tall, but not for someone over 6 ft tall. Really dingy and needs a complete overhaul. I lived in Boston for four years... More

The staff was rude and disinterested, the seats were disgusting, the audience out of control and we were there to see Norah Jones, not exactly a had banger. (She was fabulous). The experience was ruined by the audience constantly getting up for drinks, talking, and taking videos. The videos caused the extremely loud rude and oblivious usher to come down... More

Paid way too much to sit in a cold theatre that we couldn't even find! Hidden in a back alley that GPS didn't find for us as we walked around. Needs serious updating. Our theatre in Elkhart, IN puts this too shame! Way to go Lerner!

Up side Incredible architecture inside, including unique oval walkway behind the balcony. That helps with... Incredible acoustics. Really rich sound. (The Boston Symphony played here before... More

We went to see Nutcracker ballet. Tje worst "theater" I visited in my life as of now. Very dirty, very old, need repairs ASAP, looks hazardous. Chewing gum under seats!

Absolutely awful and uncomfortable seating will NEVER return to this venue unless it gets a major overhaul! Felt like we were packed in like sardines. There are many other comfortable places to see shows in the area! I thought the acoustics were just ok not great like others stated.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
