Not often you find a Donald Ross municipal golf course! I actually really liked the layout of this course. Just an FYI, it is a city course so not very well taken care of. Fairways are beaten up. Well, George Wright is not technically part of Frederick Law Olmstead's linked green city parks established in the late nineteenth century, as is its sister course at Franklin Park. This club has it all. Great long fairways, greens that takes out the best of you and enough rough to play it tough! The old clubhouse lacks the stylisch interior one should expect when walking up to it. Recently played both of the Boston City courses and as an avid golfer who has played many of the top courses in the country, I was impressed with this "Muni" course. Its 6500 Yards Par 70, which means realistically for a Par 72 many are used to you are talking playing in the 6800 range, so there is enough there... More

This is a track with some potential, although it is not up to the master's usual design standards. Donald Ross would roll over in his grave if he could see the shape this course is in.
