We absolutely loved the tour & our fabulous driver Sam I Am! He was very accommodating & excellent customer service. We were in town for one night & this was a great choice. Now we have an idea what to do next time we are in Boston.

What a great tour . David filled our excursion with lots of interesting facts. He would be the kind of history teacher that would make kids want to know more and learn more. Totally enjoyable. Thank you, David from Boston on the Beantown Trolley~~Hop On~Hop Off

Sam was our driver most of the time we used the trolley. He picked us up each morning at our hotel and was always upbeat and friendly!!! You couldn't ask for a nicer guy and he was most knowledgeable of the Boston area. This hop on hop off every 30 minutes provides you an excellent way to see Boston. Through... More

This the second time we have ridden the Bean town Trolley while visiting Boston. It seems that there are at least 3 trolley companies. All trolleys have the same route and include the Harbor cruise. What you are really buying is the drop off and pickup at various tourist stops. Bean town promises a thirty minute schedule which they are... More

This is a must do if you spend over a couple of days in Boston. It's a hop-on hop-off service that gets you around the entire city with stops at some of the city's highlights. The drivers narrate throughout the trip and you learn a lot from history to hot spots to visit. The drivers are very well versed and... More

We took the Beantown trolley to discover the History of Boston. We were picked up at our hotel at the Comfort Inn by a gentleman name Sam I Am. We spent the whole day in Boston, we visited the Old North Hill Church, Paul Revere's house and had lunch at little Italy. Sam I Am(George Clooney) was our driver. He... More

We used the bus 4 times during the day and it was a perfect connection for our needs. We did the downtown part of the freedom trail the day before on a tour, but we decided to do the rest on our own and we caught the trolley near our hotel and it took us to the harbor where we... More

We have taken Hop On Hop Off trolleys everywhere we visit and never, ever had a bad experience. That is, until we had tickets for the Benton Trolley. The one day ticket was part of a tour we purchased. We arrived to secure our tickets and found one person behind the counter helping customers and answering the phone. We should... More

We had the beantown trolley. The red cars were terrible to sit in. The frequency was low. The itinerray was small compared to other trolleys. The guides were arguing with each other. Take another trolley!

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
