We visited the Star of India during San Diego Maritime Month in San Diego. The Star of India has been refreshed since I had been on it many years ago, but the historical stories we were told about the Star of india were still interesting....More

This was a unique tour for me, I wanted to do the big military ship but my family wanted to do the Star of India (which included like 6 or 7 other ships/submarines). It was awesome, unfortunately, we had to rush through the ships. Please...More

It is a great feeling to be suddenly on board of such a historic vessel. The tickets are $16 for adults and you get to see other Maritime Museum ships as well. The curators are excellent source of information. Do not hesitate to ask questions.

An amazing old 19th century sailing barque, built during the American Civil War. In excellent condition (they actually sail it at least once a year). Stunning to stand on the deck and realize it went around the world 21 times!

For $16, it was not just the Star of India which you can see inside but 6 more ships/submarines docked by the pier. It's interesting with different kinds of ships and rich history that goes with a trip inside. However, you may need some motion...More

The ship is partially restored and I loved to see the original cabins and the floors and feel the ship move as you tour it. Many other ships are included in the tour and also two submarines. a must do

This was a great experience see and learn about the history of the Star. I would definitely recommend it because of the many sights inside as well as the new renovations done in the boat.

The details put into this exhibit are very intricate. You actually have a sense of being in another time in history while you are down in living quarters of the boat.

There is a lot of history to this sailing ship from the 1800's. Lots of stories can be told including tales of tragedy. The STAR OF INDIA is a fascinating step back into a time long ago. Parts of the ship are being repaired and...More

She's very interesting piece of maritime history since it's the oldest iron merchant ship. She looks in a pretty good shape for a ship that was built in the min/late 1800's. it's within walking distance from USS Midway Museum and SD waterfront park.
