Founded in 1916, the Zoo has been an icon in San Diego for nearly 100 years—and an absolute must-see in Southern California. Spend the day monkeying around in our tropical oasis as you visit beautiful habitats that are home to gorillas, eagles, tigers, sun bears, Asian leopards, rare reptiles, a palette of colorful birds, and more. Visit the Australian Outback to delight in our colony of 24 koalas, and travel along Panda Trek to experience giant pandas and other animals that share their bamboo forest habitat. Go back in time through Elephant Odyssey to discover what animals used to roam Southern California and see what the elephants are up to. Enjoy a guided tour on a double-decker bus or the scenic view from the Skyfari aerial tram, and dine in the peaceful surroundings of Albert's Restaurant. Discover the wonders of wildlife with animal encounters, interactive experiences, and keeper chats. A leader in animal care and conservation, the San Diego Zoo is at the heart of the San Diego experience.

Wow! I was expecting the zoo to be ridiculously crowded as we visited it on MLK Day. The zoo didn't feel crowded at all. There were so many exhibits and informative staff. The Skyfari is included with the ticket to the zoo. I would recommend taking it from the beginning of the park to the end and then walk back... More

The Spanish Village is a delightful way to spend an afternoon. There are so many wonderful artists at work. I purchased mugs from a pottery shop and gems and other treasures from the Gemological Society!

Bus tour was excellent, and gave us a really good look at alot of the park and the animals. If possible, sit midway down the right side of the bus and take a morning tour when the animals are more active. More gluten free food options would be good, I think the restaurant was closed when we went so there... More

I wanted to love the San Diego Zoo but I ended up being disappointed. It didn't help that we were there on a dreary day after it had rained. I honestly thought there would be more animals and more exotic ones at that. The whole thing was expensive and not what I had hoped for. I used to watch Johnny... More

Our family of 7 spent the day today at San Diego Zoo. Very impressive zoo. Loved taking the bus tour at the beginning of the day to get a good overview of the zoo. Got to see giraffes and koalas and giant pandas very up close. However, for the experience, it was not worth the $50/per person! For that kind... More

We took the family for a trip to the zoo while on vacation to Legoland. Love the zoo and it is such a unique place. The temps were cooler than the surrounding areas because of all the shade. The polar bears are a must see along with the pandas. One of the best zoos in the USA so if you... More

Tickets were quite expensive but the zoo was great! We were there early in the morning, right when they opened, which I would definitely recommend since it gets very crowded later in the day. If you go there early, go see the Pandas first, as they apparently are the main attraction, and there was a huge line in the afternoon.

The zoo is fantastic! We first rode the free tour bus around the zoo to get an idea of its size and location of animals. This was great because we also learned more about the zoo's mission. Then we did a lot of walking to our favorites, but paths and maps were easy to follow. There also is a Express... More
