Founded in 1916, the Zoo has been an icon in San Diego for nearly 100 years—and an absolute must-see in Southern California. Spend the day monkeying around in our tropical oasis as you visit beautiful habitats that are home to gorillas, eagles, tigers, sun bears, Asian leopards, rare reptiles, a palette of colorful birds, and more. Visit the Australian Outback to delight in our colony of 24 koalas, and travel along Panda Trek to experience giant pandas and other animals that share their bamboo forest habitat. Go back in time through Elephant Odyssey to discover what animals used to roam Southern California and see what the elephants are up to. Enjoy a guided tour on a double-decker bus or the scenic view from the Skyfari aerial tram, and dine in the peaceful surroundings of Albert's Restaurant. Discover the wonders of wildlife with animal encounters, interactive experiences, and keeper chats. A leader in animal care and conservation, the San Diego Zoo is at the heart of the San Diego experience.

I went to zoo at 11:00am in the begining , buying one day pass to explore this enormous zoo. The first impression is the plan of this zoo which set in many zones, each has its unique interesting point and education. The amazing one is skyfari( gondola to fly cross the zoo park from its entrance area to the other... More

Had a short visit in the afternoon. Did the standard bus tour (included with the $50 single day pas). The tour was very informative but it's difficult to take photos as you do not get off the bus. Then did a walk to see the pandas and the Tigers. Three things to note: it gets dark early in winter so... More

We purchased the Go San Diego Card (from smartdestinations.com) which included free admission to the zoo. I thought the zoo was nice, but honestly I've had as much or more fun at other zoos / animal attractions. Some of the things that stood out to me: There are a lot of employees / volunteers around who are very helpful and... More

Having not been to the San Diego Zoo for about 50 years, this was a surprise. This zoo has grown into a world class attraction. See the tigers and pandas early in the day--especially when they feed the tigers. Don't miss the reptile building!! Go on at least one all around bus tour and the aerial tram--all of which is... Cool zoo with lots to see. Kid and adult friendly. Some good bus options and sky cable car, but lots of walking with some considerable inclines. I recommend it for a full day activity.

I moved to San Diego almost 2 years ago and have visited several times since. I loved it so much so I decided to buy a membership for a year. Great value and depending on the membership, you can bring a guest for free and get discounts on food and merchandise. The attractions are amazing and there are many. Its... More

My 3-year old son and I went to the Zoo straight from the airport as the place we would be staying was not ready. They stored our three big suitcases at the stroller rental, with no problem. We were not very energetic that day due to our travels but had a relaxed pleasant time there. There were options for us... More

A wonderful zoo, I spent all day there wandering around! You definitely need more than the four hours recommended on trip advisor to really appreciate everything there is to see. Lots of emphasis on education and conservation. Book online with trip advisor and walk straight to the turnstiles, no queuing!
