More
Founded in 1916, the Zoo has been an icon in San Diego for nearly 100 years—and an absolute must-see in Southern California. Spend the day monkeying around in our tropical oasis as you visit beautiful habitats that are home to gorillas, eagles, tigers, sun bears, Asian leopards, rare reptiles, a palette of colorful birds, and more. Visit the Australian Outback to delight in our colony of 24 koalas, and travel along Panda Trek to experience giant pandas and other animals that share their bamboo forest habitat. Go back in time through Elephant Odyssey to discover what animals used to roam Southern California and see what the elephants are up to. Enjoy a guided tour on a double-decker bus or the scenic view from the Skyfari aerial tram, and dine in the peaceful surroundings of Albert's Restaurant. Discover the wonders of wildlife with animal encounters, interactive experiences, and keeper chats. A leader in animal care and conservation, the San Diego Zoo is at the heart of the San Diego experience.

Best time to arrive is when it fist opens...best for parking, cool weather, and active animals - when the heat of the day doesn't make them want to nap. All of the exhibits are humane to the animals, and wonderful for the visitors.

While this zoo is what I'm guessing THE most expensive zoo in the US it's totally worth it. Entrance to the zoo includes a hop on hop off bus, a tour double decker and a air tram that's very cool! The zoo is just spectacular!...More

The zoo is 100 acres with lots to see and do. Your best bet to explore the zoo without killing you feet or your legs on the hills is to take advantage of the tour bus and the kangaroo hopper buses. Also, save money and...More

I bought directly at the zoo. My hotel had $5.00 off coupons. We looked into the Go San Diego pass definitely a good option if planning to do multiply things while there. List of included places is very extensive
