Although this is very touristy, you get a feel for what some parts of San Diego looked like in the 'old days.' There are old adobe houses and it gives an authentic old time feel. This is also a great place to shop for hand...More

Old towns a fairly kitschy place, but there are some great historic sites here, and the shops aren’t half bad. My personal favorite is the schoolhouse, which was San Diego’s first!

Summer brings the crowds, prices of retail items are incredible. Food is average and waaaaaaaaaaay overpriced. Service is slow so be prepared to sit awhile. Not as we remember visiting Old Town several years ago. Things change and not always for the best.

The park is really well maintained. Parking can be a bit tricky. Old town is right there with it's shops and great food selections. I managed to make a really nice day of it!!

I loved the restaurant we went to for dinner. The shopping was ok. Much smaller than I remember. The Mexican restaurants are very authentic.

We rode the trolley and got off in Old Town and it was the best part of our day. We enjoyed walking around looking and shopping and eating. Would totally recommend this as a must do on your trip to San Diego.

Worth the trip but I would not go back. The history is reasonably well preserved and presented but it is way too commercial, everywhere you turn they are selling something. You can take the train out there from downtown.

Hope you are still looking for advice as this is a bit late. San Diego is relatively small, so you can see a lot. Definitely see Coronado Island and Hotel del Coronado as well as the beach. Old Town is a must as is Balboa... More
