Short walk from our hotel. Great form of exercise and people watching. Plenty of restaurants. Can even rent a boat, jet skis etc.

We walked along the Embarcadero on a breezy sunny day and enjoyed some wonderful views. Apart from the sailing boats and cruisers, there was the Star of India, the enormous aircraft carrier (Midway museum), the Unconditional Surrender statue and monuments to sailors who gave their lives in World War II. At the east end of the harbour, we saw 2... More

We stayed at the Marriott Marquis and walked around this park during the evening. It was relatively quiet. You can hear a bunch of activity from the Navel base. In the dark, you can hear the seals carrying on. I fell in love with the turtle mosaic on the picnic table.

We rented bikes from Stay Classy Bike Rentals - we picked them up at the Hyatt and rode one end of the Embarcadero to the other. It was so nice to be by the ocean, it was a fantastic way to get around. We took the ferry over to Coronado Island - a must do! It's beautiful, a great way... More

The Embarcadero is not one place but a long stretch along the San Diego side of San Diego Bay. Not many actual shops to dine in unless you're in Seaport Village or one of the hotels. It's a great stroll of probably 5 plus miles period there's a San Diego Maritime Museum along with with San Diego Symphony performs for... More

I walked down here twice during a short trip for work to SD. It is on the backside of the convention center, which is where I spent my day. So, after lunch, I walked up the steps (many people work out here including walking the steps! Too bad I was in work clothes otherwise I would have ran them a... More

Convention/conferences can get a bit lame after a bit. This area is just the backside of the convention center with a couple of park areas, a few restaurants and of course the marina. It was never overly busy even with our sizeable convention going on. Good place to get away to and enjoy the surroundings and collect your thoughts.

A pleasant place to wander along the harbour. Some nice shops and we enjoyed our lunch at the Cheesecake Factory which is in the small square.

This was a trolley stop, and so off we got. If you're interested in the Star of India, Harbor Cruises, or the USS Midway, this is your stop. We took a quick look-see and off we went to another location. This is a pretty commercial area, always something to do--real touristy. To us it seemed like this stop was one... More
