Overall, our visit to the Emarcadero in San Diego was excellent. We went almost every night during our nine-night stay. There were several food choices, and the food was generally good. Relaxing walks along the waterfront especially enjoyable, and there were many places to sit and enjoy the views.

Still owed one last review from this years trip to San Diego ... so here it is :
.......
Maybe because I rarely see the sea, or just because of the unique flavor of San Diego with its harbor and maritime museum and USS Midway....still the Embarcadero area it is one of my favorite places in the city.
It is located in Downtown San Diego - stretching from the W Grape St. incorporating the Waterfront Park and ending at the Embarcadero Marina South Park at the San Diego convention center.
So the area is huge ... you can spend a whole day in the area if you like - the Maritime museum definitely worth visiting, the USS Midway is an absolute must. Maybe at the cruise ship terminal you go for a whale watching tour ... and if you are hungry you could have lunch or diner at the many places in the area.
Also it is important that it is easily accessible from all direction and on top there are plenty of parking spots ...
For me it is always nice to walk in the area ... Stop at the Bob Hope Memorial and watch the Midway ... try it out when you are in San Diego.

I don't live by the sea side - for me it is always interesting to walk beside the sea, enjoy the sunshine and the salty winds of the sea.
This place for me it is very nice to take a walk (typically to limit the effects of jet-leg) right after my arrival to San Diego. It is a lovely place to stretch your legs after the long trips (mine typically are in the range of 18-22 hours to get to San Diego).
As you can walk around there are several places where you can stop - here are a few in case you've been wondering:
- fish market
- the USS Midway
- the USS San Diego Memorial
- Taffy 3 Memorial
- Seaport Village - here you get a coffee, snack, lunch or diner - shop for souvenirs.
You got benches along the walkway - you can to enjoy the view of the boats - or of the bay.
Also if you come by car you have parking options available.
Overall a very nice place to take a walk and for me it is really interesting.

Nice place for walking and hanging out, staring from the waterfront park ending in the seaport village. Many things to do and see, you can visit the maritime museum, the USS midway museum or take a seal tour. There were many Monuments to see and maybe the most famous and my favorite was the “ unconditional Surrender statue “ we walk there our first day in San Diego and it was raining heavily and walk there again our last day before our cruise leaved, there were some vendors selling some souvenirs and accessories which were not there in our first day.

Lovely place, worth the visit.

Pleasant walk along past the marina after we dropped our rental car off at the airport. Only 30 minutes and your back in the heart of San Diego.

It’s a nice pleasant walk that wraps around a spot with some small shops but nothing super special. The views are alright but I wouldn’t come here twice unless you’re taking a boat out to Coronado from the ship terminal there.

Love San Diego...even thought it was a busy weekend, we found a nice parking at the Seaport Village. A lot of stuff to see with a lot of attractions relatively close for a family stroll. The sights were impressive and the atmosphere is relaxing. Can wait to go back and explore some more. Enjoy San Diego!

Walking along the Embarcadero is a great visual delight with sweeping views of the bay and easy to do with wide sidewalks. If you're there on a Saturday morning, you can shop the fish market of locally sourced seafood that's on a pier located just beyond Tuna Harbor and almost adjacent to Seaport Village. Go early for the best selection and metered parking is free prior to 10 a.m.
