Why one review for two different islands? Only Tripadvisor knows... We stayed in a hotel on Harbor Island which is right across the street from the Intl. Airport in San Diego. Great sidewalk right next to the water pretty much along the whole island. A...More

I have been twice to San Diego and both times, our family stayed on Shelter Island. We really like the location and the views of the water and the marina. There is a hop on hop off shuttle that picks up tourists on the island....More

We stayed on Shelter Island on our most recent visit to San Diego. We walked along the marina and spent some time on the pier. There were several people fishing off the pier and some beautiful sea birds looking for a meal as well.

We walked all the way from Scott Street on the mainland along Shelter Island Drive to the Shelter Island Fishing Pier. It's a nice walk mostly away from traffic (unless it's a busy weekend). The Fathom Bistro on the pier is a great spot for...More

The path is well maintained, with seating scattered about. the loos are a little strange - no doors on the cubicles. Great opportunity to do a spot of wildlife watching. There is a fascinating Japanese feature - a bell gifted to the city on open...More

Great views. Nice walk. You are looking over the bay and harbor. Lots of wildlife to see. Too many beggars.
