This is a great museum, with friendly hosts for a personal touch, but with very up-to-date technology. Really brings the story of the march of the Mormon Battalion to life. While we enjoyed it as a retired couple, I think it would also appeal to...More

Hosted in a large building on the edge of old town (actually amongst a synagogue and a RC church). Was expecting a few rooms of artefacts and stories on posters on the wall, it isn't anything like that. We were greeted at the door by...More

My kids and I have toured this museum several times - it is a great representation of the Mormon settlement into the American West (most interesting is the actual Mormon journal entry marking the first recording of gold found in Sutter's Mill!) -- think wagon...More

Clever and well designed, enthusiasm overflowing. Of course it's an introduction to the church but it's never forced and the folks are so open to all questions, after you've finished climb the tower and if you have a car go see the stunning temple on...More

We just wondered in here and once seeing the short film and having a guided tour, it is remarkable that this band of Mormon soldiers had endured with out firing a single hostile shot.

This is a gem! I took two sons, ages 7 and 13, and we enjoyed the entertaining tour which taught about life threatening travels of the battalion and early pioneers in the area. We even got a commemorative photo. Very well done.
