They present the story of the Mormon Battalion's trek from Iowa to San Diego. The guided tour allows the audience to follow that historic trip. The presentation is unique and designed to hold the attention of the children. We went through with families that had children and they were captivated by the guides and the presentation. This site is free... More

Great stop to understand the Mormon role in the building of San Diego. A nice presentation little role play through a video presentation mixed with guides telling the tale of the Mormon trek with the US Army to San Diego. It's free and there is no religious pressure. History enthusiasts will have a good time a short well as anyone... More

Very interesting and glad we returned for a 2nd time, no religion is pushed here so don't worry, at first I was hesitant because of the name but so glad that did not make us miss this.

If you don't know a lot about Mormon history, I would highly recommend you stop here and listen to the story of how they made it to San Diego. It is truly a fascinating story and it will refresh your outlook on the strong faith these men and women shared. The story they tell is very entertaining and quite unexpected.... More

Tour groups were led from room to room as the story of the Mormon Battalion unfolded. In each, the guide was able to talk with the people in photos on the wall a la Harry Potter. At the end, our photos were taken and emailed to us. Outside, activities for kids were in progress, such as panning for gold. We... More

My wife and I recently visited the Mormon Battalion. We were warmly greeted and then ushered into the venue for a very interesting and interactive look into the history of the Mormon Battalion and how they came to San Diego. Very well done, NOT boring at all and it is a free attraction. If anyone has concerns about the religious... More

This was a very informative and entertaining opportunity. Our family knew the general details of the Mormon Battalion. This was a well thought out and entertaining way to present the story of the Mormon Battalion.

This is found in Old Town and a great place to stop and check out even if you are not a Mormon. It's a beautiful building.

This surprised me. We were in Old Town San Diego and this site was right there so we went. There was a really cool display that is particularly engaging for kids, but also interesting for adults, as well. If you are in the area it's a must-see. If you aren't in the area and love history...it's worth making your way... More
