This lighthouse was a bit different from others that we have visited as it has living quarters inside. It was a different view into the life of the keeper.

The lighthouse is a great place to visit for history and just to see it. The location in Cabrillo Park is wonderful, with spectacular ocean views and views of downtown San Diego. Easy access with public transportation, though buses are few, so allow a lot...More

Good history of the light house and its use. Very well preserved and appointed. Good for children, and adults, to see how ship navigation was once primitive. No GPS at the time!

The lighthouse is one of many sights when going to the Point Loma State Park. Educational, full of Historical facts, lots of trails to view at different vantage points. Plenty of parking in this area around the visitor center.

Located in Cabrillo National Monument, Old Point Loma Lighthouse, no longer in operation, had been an icon of San Diego since it was built and put into service in 1855. While in operation, it had the highest elevation of any lighthouse in the United States...More

It's neat to see all the coastal Lighthouses. This one marks way to San Diego. This structure is at the end of peninsulas.

I'll explain. It's a little up hill hike, but, my 90 year old parents may not be able to make it. There are 3 handicapped parking places up on top by the light house. If you go into the main visitor pavilion and ask, they...More

What a view! We enjoyed the history of the lighthouse and the overlook to the bay on one side and ocean on the other. It was a good activity for kids.

Great panoramic view of San Diego. Interesting old lighthouse. Statue of Juan Cabrillo who first landed here from Mexico.

You pay a fee to get into the Carrillo National Monument Park. I think it was like $10. But once you're past the gate then everything else is free. There is no additional fee to go into the lighthouse, or the visitor center... More
